My husband and I spent the day with my BFF and her family. It was a wonderful, diverse group that included 3 immigrant students who attend school with my friends' child, a young trans man. BFF's other child is a lesbian, as is her sister. We were a mix of believers and atheists, male and female, young and old. We joked that it was a DEI Thanksgiving!😂🥰 One thing we all had in common right away was that we were all eager to listen to each other's stories with acceptance and without judgment. It was such a great time! The conversations were so interesting and, of course, included very important topics. There was also lots of laughter, and sharing of stories about holidays and special foods & traditions in the students' home countries.
