I was alive during the 200th anniversary, and I recall it as being joyful and bipartisan.
My son works building wind turbines. The crew can be up to 150 different people ranging from ultra red to ultra blue. Yet they work well together. Maybe they are the ones that should be running the country.
He was home for the memorial day weekend when I was having family over. I am probably ultra blue and some of them are probably ultra red. I had been flying my flag upside down for holidays. Given who was coming over, l asked my son what he thought I should do about the flag. He said I should turn it right side up to honor the vets. All those people who gave their lives, were harmed, or at least spent time defending this country. So I did. I will probably fly it right side up in honor of them as well.
Our 100th anniversary was marred by news of the deaths of US military personnel following an arrogant and unwise general and Native Americans defending their families at the Little Big Horn. I hope we can make this anniversary one of healing.

It is shameful that 80,000,000 ,000 people voted for this insanity and that 50 senators continue to support him and 5 supreme courts will do whatever he says. it is disgusting. That he daily makes a mockery of what (I thought) were the values we held as a country believing in equality and equal opportunity. Now it is all grift and corruption in plain sight.
