Americans are not very bright. You don’t get fresh fruits and vegetables in the winter without importing them. Sure, we used to get some from Florida and Southern California, but of course, they want to deport the workers who plant and harvest that stuff! Not to mention Florida is getting measurable snow now! There have always been dumb people in America, but the damage done to our education system has caused an epidemic of stupidity.

It’s like the movie Idiocracy is a documentary 😎

Nancy's avatar

Aw, now, don't compare the two; the President in that movie was infinitely better than Trump in RL. X-P

I was thinking the same thing...smh

I must have posted hundreds of times before the election: ICE isn't going to stop and politely ask for each person's id. No, you're all going to get loaded onto the buses and wind up God knows where. Better check the Krome detention center for your LEGAL lost ones and pull their LEGAL, unhappy asses out of there. What a bunch of dopes.

deniway's avatar

Because they aren't WHITE, ICE is targeting Native Americans - who have the most right of all of us to be here!

In Washington state, Tribal members have been told their CIB proves nothing. They have to have drivers licenses or ID. I fear for my friends.

A R's avatar

To which country will they deport Native Americans? The truth is that Native Americans should be deporting Trump and his followers. 🤔

Beth Dragonfly's avatar

I agree but I've had magats suggest that they're brown so send them to Mexico. I told the men to go to hell

A R's avatar

Mexico will not take them if they are US citizens.

Nancy's avatar

So, Mexico has an age limit as well? There are lots of countries around the world, most of whom have excellent governmental programs, but those have to be paid into by that country's citizens all their lives, and those governments therefore set upper age limits on who can emigrate to them. :-/

Maybe we can get in at any age by claiming political asylum...but let's hope it doesn't get that bad. :-/

deniway's avatar

They are sending everyone to Guantanamo - do you think they will actually ask where they originally came from? Do you think that plane load of people that was diverted from Mexico and Colombia were all of Mexican or Colombian origin? They were brown and spoke Spanish - nuf for them. Extremely sad and depressing the country we have become.

Nancy's avatar

Sadly, Beringia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beringia) doesn't exist any more... :-/

A victim of climate change and rising sea levels.

(And yes, I completely agree about the "deport Trump" sentiment; any/all of us with European ancestry should be thankful that such policies didn't exist here 400+ years ago...)

Jean Smith's avatar

ICE doesn't want to accept their indigenous IDs. It's reprehensible. But it's ICE. And now it's 47's ICE with a license to kill.

LJ57's avatar

Nothing could be more despicable than targeting indigenous people

...Which is why I laugh and LAUGH when those Trump-sucking morons are his first targets!

Hey, this is what you wanted.... 😈

"Deport all immigrants!"

"No, not that one!"

The fact that they voted to have people deported is evil enough. To think they now have a right to pick and choose who goes and who stays is disgusting. Why any person of colour would want to be with such a racist POS in the first place is beyond me. As for those who voted to have themselves deported... 🤦‍♀️

Yes! I know it sounds crazy, dear God, but this chaos may very well be a good thing. No fresh fruits and veggies? Expensive coffee and eggs and other stuff? Some folk just need a good smack in the face with a 2x4 to get their attention. Time to remind people that this is what the old Soviet Union looked like. Yes, I am old enough to remember, quite clearly, the pictures and videos of people lining up for hours just to buy an overpriced loaf of bread. If Mump's Taliban succeeds, people will starve. Soviet era scenes like this will play out everywhere, except in the kitchens of the rich and obedient. How long do we think that a people not enculturated to being submissively obedient will tolerate this? Oh, some will. But I wager that, when their kids become chronically very hungry and ill, most will throw the bums out. Or, so I hope. And those who guard and protect the rich and evil? I can't wait for the day when they turn on their masters, turn them out - or worse - and take their food and such. This is the future under Mump & Co. unless we join forces and toss 'em all onto the garbage heap of history.

I too am old enough to have grown up with the USSR being just another part of the world. When I was a sophomore, one of my teachers picked me (along with 29 other students) to go to Europe. He and his wife did this every summer with a chosen group. We were gone for 30 days (I look back and wonder how my parents felt). Among the places we went (and 52 years later I can still recite the itinerary) were Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Berlin. Granted, we were in safe places, but we crossed Iron Curtain borders and spent a couple of days in West Berlin. We got there through East Germany. We saw the wall, the towers manned by soldiers with machine guns, No Man's Land, what East Berlin looked like. Bare, dull, no stores full of people. We knew what the Soviet regime looked like.

The non-rich MAGA crowd doesn't understand this, any more than they understand the fears of polio, measles, pertussis, diphtheria. The outbreaks that took their children. They have never seen it. All they see is someone they hate getting targeted, not realizing that when the goons run out of undocumented folks and anyone who looks different, they will come for them.

Whoof...yeah, I once went on a "whirlwind" European tour, a college graduation present (basically, a college-student-level-package-deal; reasonably priced) granted me by very old-fashioned parents, who figured every young person should do "the Grand Tour" or some such. :) We went through 15 countries in 31 days, in the summer of 1985. "Don't blink or you'll miss Liechtenstein!" "If it's Tuesday, it /must/ be Belgium!" (I finally understood what that latter meant...)

We were in Hungary, in 1985...on the /Fourth of July/. Now, granted, it was a lovely country in places, with a rich history, Budapest was nice (though they needed to work on their air pollution levels), but everything else was...well, you'd never seen a more homesick busload of American tourists by the time we trooped back to our dismal, rather wretched hotel. X-P

The next day, we were in Yugoslavia...sigh; I miss it. :( Lovely people; the minute they found out we were from America, folks on the sidewalk would light up like Christmas trees, beaming with joy for meeting us. :) That night, in a far better hotel (still not ritzy-titzy like a swanky western European hotel, but loads nicer), there was a real Big Band in the lobby. They played a few modern Yugoslavian hits, some folk songs, then the conductor turned to us and asked/stated: "We understand there are a number of people here from America tonight." ["YEAH!!!" "Woot-woot-woot! :D" "Yeah, hi..." (--me, embarrassed)] "And we understand you folks had a big holiday yesterday." Pause from us. Blinks. Exchanged looks and nods. The Band then proceeded to play about 5-10 American patriotic songs in a row, just for us. I swear I saw tears in people's eyes, and to this day, it still chokes me up. :)

Lovely country. Lovely people. We were in SARAJEVO, for pity's sake... :~-( I remember looking around when we were going from Touristy Point A to Touristy Point B and thinking, "If Europe ever really, truly unifies, this is a wonderful example to go by. If the /Balkans/ can do this... :D"

Little did I know it was probably a Cult of Personality because of Tito, but God, I really blame the farking You-damned warlords and other jerk-offs who deliberately sowed the seeds of divisiveness there. They and the world lost so many good people as a direct result. X-(

Looks like those Chump supporters are getting some "ICE'd" coffee. I bought extra before all of this 💩 started. Maybe those military planes that are flying the deported immigrants back to their own countries could carry back some fruits and vegies that we import from there. It is just going to get worse. Wait till the next disaster! Anyone know how to do drywall or roofing? I guess you better learn if you live in a disaster prone area. Thank you, God! Amen! Awomen!

Being right about trumps cruelty does not feel good at this point. I cant help but feel bad for these stupid people who didn’t see what was coming to get them.

KHKate's avatar

I feel worse for the rest of us because it's coming to get us, too, and we did the smart thing!

Samantha's avatar

Good news, everyone. The public outrage has forced Mump to rescind the freeze, in its entirety. We the People are speaking, and what we have to say is worth paying close attention to.

Just shaking my head. Only thing that's clear to me is that Doocey is like what his name sounds like.

It's so difficult to blame yourself when you know you're wrong and that's just human nature. Ownership of an atrocity that's a tough one to get through I'm sure. They certainly cannot pretend to be unsuspecting victims however. We all pay because they didn't pay attention.

Amen! That's one of the fattest leopards I've ever seen! :D Let's hope it's just Photoshopped, or that poor thing's gonna have a heart attack soon. ;)

Dear God, maybe this is not the place, but I didn’t know where else to put it. Mump, through Hegsdeth, just removed Mark Milley's security detail, security clearance and his portrait in the Pentagon has been quietly disappeared, the wall filled in and repainted. Removing his security detail is a clear message to the Iranian assassins who have been after him for a few years that they can have him. If he is assassinated, they can be blamed, giving the evil bastards a reason to declare war on Iran. In the meantime, they are trying to erase him. Hegsdeth is going to order the interim Inspector guy to conduct an intensive investigation into Milley's military service, with an eye towards 'finding' corruption. If he 'finds' it, Milley will be reduced in rank to the one he held when he became corrupt. Theoretically, he could have him busted from 4 star General to buck private, with all the loss of status and pay that that implies. He is, I suspect, to be erased as far as his true service goes. I wonder if they will expunge his records so that no one will ever remember him and what he did for this country. I have the feeling that they are trying to erase everything real and good about us and our democracy...erased from history. I feel sick. I think the spirit of George Orwell feels the same. The Ministry of Truth may be taking its final form. The Repubs have been building it for decades. Winston Smith, I presume?

Nancy's avatar

Might I suggest: I doubt Mark Milley's going to be the only one this happens to; I vote we should save what information there is on him (and others to come) online to our personal computers (not on the Cloud or some such), maybe even to thumb drives. That way, someone will know that these people existed. :-/

Seriously. I'm beginning to agree with such a kind of statement as Samantha's. :-/

Been having issues with Substack lately, but just wanted you to know I've read every email you've sent. Thank you for bringing some sanity and clarity into my life at a time where both are in short supply.

I thank you every day that you're in my life. Give that son of yours a hug for me!

I am always amazed at how really stupid we are in this country. They spelled it out for us, Project 2025 over and over and yet people voted for him. Now they are begging for help! LOL

Yeah, whatever…

How many executive orders are we up to now?

And completely incompetent people in positions of power?

And eggs cost HOW much?

And all federal funding is stalled for how long?

And those folks in North Carolina are all better after that hurricane now that illegals aren’t stealing their money…

America is really getting GREAT, right?

Nancy's avatar

How can the folks in North Carolina be all better, if the Mango Mussolini destroys FEMA? :-/
