About corporate greed though--I'm quite familiar with that notion. I basically looked at things through a Marxist perspective quite often. Then, I started learning about Jesus and I felt compelled to follow his teachings. His teachings were also very attractive to me. And later, I became involved in a religion that was pretty culty (though I didn't realize just HOW culty it was until later on). Anyway, that all influenced me in my decision basically to not vote for any presidential candidate in the three elections for which I've been eligible to vote (the last three). This is because of my age (I've been a U.S. citizen since my birth).
It is almost heartbreaking when we discover nefarious things that were going on... I don't disagree with you about that. Well, to be honest I voted for Biden. Sorry. I have my doubts about Trump and that JD Vance looks like he's another Dick Cheney cashing in at the white house. Anyway, you make some really interesting comments but I think I should tell you that I found it a bit lamentable that they basically are evidently encased (in this case) in the MAGA mental gymnastics bubble. I mean, I could basically say 2 + 2 = murder-is-wrong and some people would either a) not know how to react or b) think they have to agree with me because of the fact that I included a truth there. However, no logician or mathematician would ever agree that the statement is correct or that it should be adopted in any way. Hey, I actually really appreciate your comment here. Without a doubt, you have done some serious thinking on some important matters. You're even giving me some new information. About corporate greed though--I'm quite familiar with that notion. I basically looked at things through a Marxist perspective quite often. Then, I started learning about Jesus and I felt compelled to follow his teachings. His teachings were also very attractive to me. And later, I became involved in a religion that was pretty culty (though I didn't realize just HOW culty it was until later on). Anyway, that all influenced me in my decision basically to not vote for any presidential candidate in the three elections for which I've been eligible to vote (the last three). This is because of my age (I've been a U.S. citizen since my birth).
It is almost heartbreaking when we discover nefarious things that were going on... I don't disagree with you about that. Anyway, I'm glad that you're thinking with a bit of nuance (as demonstrated by this last comment). Yeah, the whole conflict of interest with the vaccine manufacturers being involved with the CDC and other agencies is a potential reality. I also thought about that a lot during the COVID-19 thing. And I can look into what happened to the people that were responsible for the money laundering scheme. But, there's also the possibility that the bank was genuinely being played. I hold out hope in our government institutions to this day--a hope that I very nearly lost completely one time. Thank you for reading this. 🙏
Wow! I am baptized Catholic, but was atheist/Unitarian most of my adult life. After taking a good hard look at how the world is run and the kinds of nefarious deeds being committed, I became a catchechumen in the Orthodox church.
Don't despair when you realize there are LOTS shady, evil things going on! I was freaking out the first year! I kept looking further and further back, following this historic threads and the corruption has always been around us. But if we are aware we can join up with others and do small things within our own power at a local level. We're NOT helpless like they want us to believe!!
My advice, if I may: 3 very simple things to start with: become aware of the corruption problem and let others know if you can, pay cash for everything even though digital or credit cards are super convenient and learn to grow food even if you have to start out with 1 tomato plants.
