Iran has an insane amount of waterfront along the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman. About 1770 km. All along that coastline there are purportedly huge numbers of people making missiles, drones and mines. Not in huge installations, either, but in garages and sheds. There are also huge numbers of boats, large and small, that can and do sneak mines into the sea.
If The Rump thinks he can stop mines in the Strait by lobbing things at it he is even more stupid than we thought. Troops will have to land and be boots on the ground, fighting person to person along that coastline and into the body of Iran.
A distance about the same as from New York City to Miami.
I dread this but expect that The Rump will want to do it because he is an angry frustrated toddler willing to sacrifice anyone and anything to destroy his enemies real and imagined.
