Every time I see headlines like these, I'm grateful I no longer watch or read any of these corporate media outlets. The only thing corporate media billionaire overlords understand is NO EYEBALLS + NO CLICKS = NO PROFIT. I encourage everyone to give them up in favor of supporting independent media.
I support The Guardian but even they are normalizing Trump so I wrote them a letter in response to their reporting this morning suggesting they knock it off. (Wanted to link but what I read is "US Election Unspun" which is a newsletter from The Guardian that comes into my email inbox.)
You know the sound that the adults used to make in the Peanuts shows? That's what I hear when the news is on. I don't read any news articles unless they are either International or by Substack. I am saner now than I have been in a while, and it's because I keep my head in the sand, like an Ostrich.

We shouldn't have to look for deception from our media. They are supposed to uncover it. Find the lies, defend the truth. It is is power and money behind the opinions of the news. Just like cruelty sells, the American fight has proven itself as profitable.
And the media is missing the biggest story of all. The Antichrist has arrived. This may be the death knell for the religious right that has turned so far away from the teachings of Jesus.
Yes you get another Amen! I truly do not happen to understand just why mainstream media would exaggerate stuff. I used to work for a college newspaper and the one thing that was heavily amplified was that the reporters were supposed to all be non-biased in reporting. But then again the other thing that is happening in this country (on the other side is) which our forefathers would be turning over in their graves about is "separation of church and state" which is on the "other" side the meld (with the Christian Nationalism) of Church and State. Actually it's not Church Religion it's MAGA religion.
The media seem to think that a ‘close’ race sells more advertising than a race between gooder and badder. Somehow in this day and age going for the money makes obvious bias and double standards acceptable. For shame! They put their thumb on the scale and think it is unnoticed or justified by the ratings race. Double for Shame!!
Amen, the behavior of the media should provide a forewarning when our "free speech" is shut down by the actions of Project 2025. They will first go after Jimmy Kimmel and Steven Colbert for being irreverent to Don Old, follow by the media outlets that have been giving him a pass over and over again, until we have no freedoms. Please God we need Harris and Walz to win this November by a landslide!
Some days I just need to exhale as I pull away from listening to the news/commentaries. It’s too easy for me to be pulled back into the deep, dark and despondent hole where I have resided the last 10 years. I can be elated one day but another news cycle with negative comments and I’m back scratching in the muck. I need to remind myself that these people are PAID to share their opinions which are only that.
It’s a struggle to listen to the crap talk about one opponent while the other continues to defy common decency and isn’t called out on it.
I relate completely. The roller coaster of emotions is exhausting. I vacillate between hope and despair several times a day. I have to pull back sometimes as well and give myself breaks. I watch a lot of indie media on YT, and when they play clips of Trump spewing his constant firehose of lies, and I have to skip ahead because it makes me SO angry. His voice grates on my nerves like nails on a chalkboard but 100 times worse. I hope with all my heart that he’s gone in November.

I’ve written them several times to complain as well. I’ve been a paid supporter for a long time, but even they are trying my patience.
