The empathy gene is missing in so many humans.

I don't doubt that 47* did this on purpose knowing his minions would be loud & cruel. He must be hoping Tim decides he'll change his mind about running again.

He doesn't know Tim!

And Hope, keep calling them what they are, Gus deserves none of this!

You’re right, I can’t believe how cruel people have become. When I read comments on various social media sites I am shocked at the coldness and lack of empathy. Not from my friends but from the general public.

A family in our county lost there home to fire and one of the members of the family ended up in the hospital; I expressed sadness at what had happened to them and one of my neighbors said, Red Cross is helping them. What?? They lost everything!

Who ARE these people, besides being what Hillary called them: Deplorables.

Val Smith's avatar

They are the same people who have been present in most, if not all, fascist societies. They are particularly like those in the WWII Nazi party in Germany. They behave exactly the same way. They haven't started murdering people yet, but ICE isn't far from it. The fascists of WWII may have been beaten militarily, but they are still among us. Until Trump came along, they mostly stayed in the shadows. Trump gave them all permission to come roaring back out with their vile inhumanity in full view.

This goes beyond naziism. Rude, heartless, uncaring scummy fourth-graders. I hope that Hope's response is nationally televised.

Thank you for calling out EVIL. God bless the WALZ family. 🙏🏻

Think he just did.

And so have you. 🙏

Amen! You tell them Hope! We have a wonderful person in our neighborhood collecting clothing and Christmas gifts for an immigrant community near us. Someone told her, “I don’t donate to immigrants.” The meanness and nastiness is appalling.

Val Smith's avatar

Maybe a suitable reply to that might be, "And how far back were the immigrants in YOUR family? If they had been treated this way, you wouldn't be here." We all came from immigrants, except the Native Americans and all too many of them have been insulted by magats telling them to go back where they came from.

JudiLI's avatar

That’s exactly what I suggested my friend tell her. I love when they tell Native Americans to go back. It’s just the lack of grace!

And intelligence and education as well.

I hate what this world has become.

I will never be able to understand Donald's cultists. I can't even imagine feeling good about hurting someone, especially a child. These people are the worst of humanity and they live among us. I don't even think therapy could fix these people and I believe in therapy. It is embarrassing that they are sharing this country with us. They are cowards... because if I saw someone calling a child a slur... well, let's just say I would go viral!

Jocelyn B's avatar

But they don’t want to be fixed. They think they are righteous. How frightening!

Somebody posted a comment on another ubstack yesterday that struck home:

"It’s like I blinked and we’ve turned evil overnight. "

There is no way to measure the depth of the injury that trump (and it IS trump) has done to this country. He has lifted the rocks the monsters hid under - and hurled those same rocks at anyone who defies him.

What the hell is wrong with these people? Seriously, I think you can just have that as your headline for the rest of this regime. What the hell is wrong with them? And mango mussolini didn’t bring out the worst of these people; this kind of hate was already there. Family values, am I right?

Punkette's avatar

You are right, Cat. The evil was always there, lurking in the shadows, and Dump made it okay to bellow the quiet part out loud. It’s disgraceful. The genie is out of the bottle for good. I fear the mango monster has done irreparable damage to American society.

We had to change from the term “mentally retarded” to the term “intellectually disabled” because people had weaponized the word retarded (slow) In France, the word still just means late. I’m sure at some point that type of people will find a way to weaponize intellectually disabled as well and we will have to find another medical term. There will always be a low lifes who have to find a way to make themselves feel better by degrading others. For it to come from the president of the United States is inexcusable. Anybody who voted for this man should be ashamed of themselves. You thought he was worth it. I hope you get to feel personally what you did.

When Gus Walz said “That’s my dad!” with such joy, pride and love, he proved he was among the best of us. What MAGAt can ever claim that their child said that about them?

I still get choked up remembering Gus that night. 🥲

Denise Palesch's avatar

Me, too. A wonderful, shining moment of love and respect.

It was joyous to see.

AMEN! This was by far your best post ever! DJT and his mindless cult followers need to be stopped. It's time that those in Congress to take action immediately - not next month, not next week, not tomorrow - NOW! Please God, use your SMITE powers - or at least send them back under the rock from which they came.

Michele Dukinfield's avatar

Tim Walz is the best governor MN has had in a long time. The fact that he is what those cowardly AHs claim to be, a caring family man, drives them crazy, because they so very much fall short.

So the do after a disabled young teen.

We left Barron alone till he became an adult and showed his disdain for humanity.

As his sister says: leave Gus the fuck alone.

JP Connolly's avatar

Good on Hope, an excellent sister.

I agree with you 100%! The 🍊🤡has been a pure evil bully his whole life. Then his dipshit supporters do the same thing. It’s a screwed up cult with people who went way off the deep end.

Richard's avatar

Well, it all goes back when the🍊🤡was a small kid and he was probably picked on at school. He’s a broken inside person.

Jennifer Roussel's avatar

That's not an excuse. I was bullied, too, and I don't have the money he has for mental help. I'm a good and kind person because of my shitty childhood, I'd like to think, while he's a 100% asshole. Some people just like being that way.

Richard's avatar

I agree with you! I was bullied in school and that is the main reason why I do not go to high school reunions. I’m a good decent and kind person.

Val Smith's avatar

He's a malignant narcissist, the most dangerous personality disorder there is. I see you as being a kind, empathetic and healthy person who triumphed over a rough childhood. Bless you.

Chris Winter's avatar

How abhorrent can they get?

HI2thDoc's avatar

There literally is no bottom. Every time we think we've seen it, the stooges exceed it.

Tracy L Cooper's avatar

We might find out at this rate. 🤬

God, I fucking hate these people who are indoctrinated and awash in cruelty. I know I"m not supposed to hate and my soul hurts in that conflict. But how. HOW? HOW IN THE NAME OF HAIRY GNARLY FUCKBALLS can these little satan spawns keep getting away with this hate and hurt? How can people still worship this king of unspeakable bullshit? How in the name of Moses, the two Corinthians, your Son and His disciples can we keep going on this path? Please send guidance. My hearts literally hurts today.

Your friend, Me.
