My neighbour's schizophrenic, also a young man. When he first showed signs of his illness, aged only 13, he thought he was Jesus come to save the world. He also thought he could fly and the family had to put locks on all the upstairs windows to stop him from trying!
Turns out he's more of a hellspawn. He decided flying wasn't for him and took to burglary for a while. He behaves better now, but is still what we locally call "a little shit". I guess he's not ready to save the world yet either, bless him.
We have to deal with all sorts in our lives, so gently is the best foot forward.
Y'know, God, I actually choked up a bit, and shed a tear reading how you handled the young man who hears voices. You ARE good! Thank you.
