My mom is in a similar situation. Less than $800 SS. BUT, she continues to support the current admin. I don't feel sorry for her. She'll be 94 next month. She voted for her situation, 3 times!
I agree with you. "Ya call tha tune, ya pay the piper." -Marshal Cahill, played by John Wayne in Cahill, US Marshal. Now that guy would be a MAGA If he were here now
John Wayne was a staunch republican, and I have thought about him a lot these last few years, but I think even he would not agree with what the monster now residing in the people's house is doing.
I've got a best friend who considers herself a staunch Republican, and a husband who feels the same. NEITHER of them ever voted for the Orange Julius Caesar; my buddy detested Hillary Clinton and still voted for her, because she wasn't Trump. X-P
They both feel that Trumpty-Dumpty has thoroughly betrayed their party, and they're right. :-/
IMO, their party betrayed them. The GOP had plenty of opportunities to primary Trump, impeach Trump, or take him off the ballot instead of going along with his “president can commit a felony” scheme. They took none of them.
My hubby keeps muttering, "This is not my Republican party."
If he's forced to vote for a Republican in a primary without choice in the matter, he'll vote for the most sane one he can find. If he can't find any (that one dude who seemed rational back in 2016 was, sadly, off the ballot by the time they allowed us to vote here in California X-P), he'll write-in someone like Godzilla.
Not sure. Wayne pointed fingers at people during the Hollywood Red Scare, thereby ruining reputations, careers, and lives. Without proof. That sounds pretty MAGAish to me
I believe they won't be happy until we die, us older people. Before you know it, they're going to make the world a much emptier place. Killing people on purpose will do that.
It's not just older people. It's anyone they deem "not useful." The disabled, minorities, the sick.
MAGA voted for Trump out of spite. Well, spite isn't a good way to conduct one's life. Now, they're finding out just how cold, cruel, and hateful Trump really is. Don't expect my sympathy, MAGA.
Maggots apparently believe every fucking word out of VonShitzInPants blow hole. My theory, for what it's worth 🤪, is that all these hateful people didn't suddenly appear. They were here all along. Agent orange made it a-ok to show your anger and hatred. He made it a badge of honor.
This is the same country that committed genocide against the First Nations (not the only European-based colonialists to do so, just one of the more "effective").
This is the same country that locked up over 100,000 Japanese American citizens, of all ages (but hey, at least they kept families together...didn't they? not sure), because of ONE GUY in the Hawaiian territory that collaborated with a downed Japanese pilot after Pearl Harbor.
This is the same country that passed dozens, if not hundreds, of Jim Crow laws, pushed by former slave holders whose whiny pouting caused the most military deaths of Americans ever.
This is the same country that sided with corporations to the extent of invading other countries and punishing its own citizens punitively, militarily, when they tried to strike against unfair conditions.
I'd heard that, in the late-1700s (after Independence)/early-1800s, women and freed blacks were able to vote. When white males started to come 'round and vote AGAIN in the same election, in drag, or black-face, or drag and black-face, to stuff the ballot box, this is the country that punished voter fraud by eliminating the vote for women and freed blacks.
Who knows; maybe, once this is all over, we'll finally acknowledge that we still have a lot of work to do. :-/
Well you are certainly right about that Robert. No stone will go unturned. I'm starting to understand what it might be like to live in places like North Korea. The difference being, you won't find their soldiers homeless on the street or one single one of their mothers.
The county always tries to place the child with the parent, regardless of if it's even safe for the child in some cases. Imagine if the state could gain the power to place parents with children. Some people may have to learn all over again what it means to sacrifice their own needs for another. Whatever happened to that?
There already has been a law in 30 states making it the children’s responsibility to pay for housing, medical, and care for parents—it is called filial responsibility laws. The laws actually vary by state as to what children are responsible for paying. Some states just garnishee wages of children who aren’t providing for their parents.
“The law that can hold adult children financially responsible for their elderly parents' care is often called "filial responsibility laws". These laws vary by state, but generally, they impose a legal obligation on adult children to provide for their parents' basic needs and medical care if the parents are unable to do so themselves. While 30 states have some form of filial responsibility laws, enforcement is often inconsistent.”
Gosh Mary, I had no idea. All I know is that nobody had to force me to take care of my 93-year-old mother. She's having Cheerios and fruit for breakfast as we speak and she's mad about it.
Let's have a reality check on this Mother's Day: If that was somebody else's mother being threatened with eviction, MAGA teresa wouldn't give a damn about it. Probably be nodding in agreement with ole chonky boi. The ONLY reason teresa gives a damn-pier is because it's HER MAGA mom being affected. And she still won't lay the blame for her 88-year-old mother's situation in Trump's lap where it belongs.
The stupid is burning a hole through the center of the earth with these people. By their logic, all those OTHER people in Section 8 housing are worthless, mooching scum, but HER mom EARNED the right to be there. OMYou!
"And she still stays loyal to her MAGA cult." Geez, these types are just so unfathomable. If they would get a sense of anything beyond themselves, that would help. "Yeah, he's just trying to improve things by cutting waste, fraud and abuse, just not for my mom." Not how it works.
Did you know that one out of every three T💩p voters is just as stupid as the other two?
These MAGAts are about to find out that government programs like Section 8 and SS may be the only thing keeping their parents from moving in with them. FAFO.
This is a perfect example of why I don't fall prey to the exhortations to stop our Schadenfreude. This person has had no change of heart, no inner reckoning AT ALL. She's just boo-hoo-ing about her particular situation, expecting empathy while absolutely continuing to refuse to empathize herself. FAFO indeed.
My mom spent the last few years of her life in a memory care facility. There is no way we could have afforded to keep her there (once we’d emptied her checking/savings accounts without Medicaid. Destroying these sources that provide assistance to those who are NOT billionaires is cruel and heartless. This is not who we are.
Wow this is 2 in a row. The one question I would love to ask all these MAGA's how could you all NOT see through the grifter in chief that is now living in florida and DC? This man has been a con man from the time he was in his 20's living in NYC! There are tons of books about "HIM" explaining exactly the type of dude he is, that he hires people to build things for him and then doesn't pay them when the job is complete. I feel for the mother, I believe she is old and frail and can't work, but putting who they put in the White House was never going to change what is occurring now!
I would hope not, but I DO know when I was growing up my father was a republican and so was my mother. I believe the first time I voted it was Republican but after that I switched parties, because most of the Democratic campaigns promised to actually help people NOT themselves.
I would say I feel sorry for the 88 year old except she was ignorant enough to vote for agent orange three times. Guess that blows the idea that wisdom comes with age🤨
And chonky boi, friends, is why you should never respond to a troll!! He spends all his free time trolling because he's got nothing else, no life. I'll bet his mom kicked him out and that is why he has no empathy and is a Magat.
I noticed that Teresa didn't say she was sorry she voted for Chump! I guess it will take her mother having to move back in with her for her to say that. Thank you, God! Amen! Awomen! Ramen!
My mom is in a similar situation. Less than $800 SS. BUT, she continues to support the current admin. I don't feel sorry for her. She'll be 94 next month. She voted for her situation, 3 times!

He absolutely would be a MAGA
What's so crazy about that racist POS, is that he was married to a Peruvian (Maria del Pilar Pallete Alvarado).
a
He was a really yuge racist!
I believe they won't be happy until we die, us older people. Before you know it, they're going to make the world a much emptier place. Killing people on purpose will do that.

Yeah... X-P
On the other hand...

Wait. There will be a $5,000 incentive if we die.
Sounds like loyal trump follower Teresa should let mom move in with her. Certainly she can care for her mom, right? Right? 🙄
Should. Mom has family. Why should she rely on my hand out?
(certain amount of sarcasm here)
The county always tries to place the child with the parent, regardless of if it's even safe for the child in some cases. Imagine if the state could gain the power to place parents with children. My first chuckle of the day, thank you 😊
I love that first line!! The second one is 💯% correct, too!!!
I think FAFO might be the best acronym ever
What did she think would happen? People voted for hate and that's what they are getting.
My mom spent the last few years of her life in a memory care facility. There is no way we could have afforded to keep her there (once we’d emptied her checking/savings accounts without Medicaid. Wonder if dear daughter coached mom on whom vote for🤔
I would hope not, but I DO know when I was growing up my father was a republican and so was my mother. I believe the first time I voted it was Republican but after that I switched parties, because most of the Democratic campaigns promised to actually help people NOT themselves.
I can only say to the daughter who is whining about the situation she put her mother in is, “I told you so.”
What I’d do is research a candidate on sites that are not bent politically. I don’t think she’d be capable of that.
The problem is that they think they are part of Trump‘s us. They are really a part of Trump‘s them, with the rest of us.
And, unfortunately, until they have burned their fingers enough, they will not learn.
I would say I feel sorry for the 88 year old except she was ignorant enough to vote for agent orange three times. Guess that blows the idea that wisdom comes with age🤨
Anyone else think Chonky Boi is being facetious?
I think he’s a liberal preaching at FAFO
I thought so.
Amen! Awomen! Ramen!
I think this is terrible and so very sad.
