Please strike him down with hellfire

Why couldn't it have been AF1 flying last night?

I don't think even Satan wants him down there... X-P

I am thankful that Letters from God definitively laid the blame for this horrific and preventable tragedy at Trump’s feet. He is solely to blame for the deaths of all humans on board the commercial flight and the deaths of the airmen in the Blackhawk helicopter.

There is no one else to blame except Trump and his deliberate reign of chaos.

This should be an impeachable offense.

deniway's avatar

It was a military helicopter on a training mission in the most active airport in the area. MILITARY - who is in charge of the military??? Hegseth! The last major commercial airline crash was in 2009. Guess DEI was doing it's job for 16 years then without incident eh?

Donald Lipkis's avatar

Even the billionaire Trump sycophants should be worried. After all they fly in planes too.

And I'd need a toilet break every time one took off, if I worked in air traffic control.

Strangest press conference I have ever seen. And that is competitive for cruel and deranged conferences. Thoughtless to victims but dishonest, racist, and delusional at a minimum.

In other words - totally normal for the imbecile-in-chief.

Not even 2 full weeks in office, and people are dying. No words.

Hey God! Thank you for using my quote. I’m just tickled pink. I feel it is my duty to support people who speak truth to power, including your writings. Every day I try to place editorial cartoons on Facebook and credit the artists. It’s my way of providing a different perspective than what you might find on the news. It’s going to be a long four years, but we have to resist and get through it.

No, thank you, Nancy!

I've been horrified by this piece of pond scums lack of empathy for years. He has never thought about anything but himself. He blames anything that might detract from him on someone else.

That he is running a country founded on great principles and a living constitution is appalling. The rest of the world is praying for people who live here and themselves.

The doomsday clock was recently moved to 89 seconds to Midnight, the closest it has EVER been. I am afraid for humanity but I am part of the RESISTANCE

Punkette's avatar

Beth, as an avid reader of the Bulletin … I am surprised the clock didn’t move closer with Orange Lucifer (Emperor of Hell) in charge! 😑

LJ57's avatar

This might be an insult to Lucifer.

Lucifer is technically a fallen angel with the possibility of redemption. There has never been anything angelic about the orange menace and redemption is not in the cards for this sociopath.

Nancy's avatar

Absolutely! I highly recommend catching up on the /Lucifer/ TV-Cable series, as a matter of fact.

Might not have much to do with our buddy Satan here (except for that one hilarious animated episode of them exploring/trapped in one person's concept of hell), but by and large, it's really good. Even hyper-Christians prepared to hate it were impressed. :)

LJ57's avatar

That was a really entertaining show. I watched it on broadcast television and I need to catch up on streaming.

Just as we observed during the Global Pandemic, Trump policies kill Citizens…

MAGA policies do not benefit Americans or America…

Democrats continue to be useless and silent regarding this obvious low hanging political fruit…

WTF?!?!? 🤬

It may have been preventable if DonOld Dumbass had kept his fake tanned nose out of the workings of government agencies he knows nothing about! His ego knows no bounds and is only surpassed by his ignorance. God, please take care of these 67 souls. Thank you, God! Amen! Awomen!

As much as I despise the Donald, even he’s not responsible for this tragedy. Although his gutting of key agencies, committees and personnel will wreak severe havoc in the coming months & years, this wasn’t a result of anything he’s done in the past week.

Unfortunately, it seems like it was just a sad confluence of events, things which occur daily in aviation, but when they occur at the same time vs. separately, result in tragedy.

The real question for me today is whether the NTSB will be allowed, under this extremely partisan administration, to actually investigate this without prejudice. I have my doubts.

Michelle DeAnne's avatar

What? I'm genuinely confused that you can think he is not responsible for this. Gutting the protections... how is that something that occurs daily in aviation?

SE's avatar

Valid question!

TLDR: He hasn’t had enough time to have had a direct impact on the safety issues which might have affected these crews, unless from a mentally stressed perspective. But… he’s absolutely headed down that path for the future.

And the longer version:

Perhaps I wasn’t very clear in my reference to things which occur daily in aviation. What I mean by that is there are frequently two aircraft occupying airspace in close proximity to one another (think parallel approaches into places like SFO, etc.); Aircraft frequently fly at night in congested airspace; Controllers routinely point out other aircraft, with instructions to follow them or pass behind them; Aircraft in the same airspace are often using different air traffic control frequencies for several reasons; Army helicopter pilots routinely fly night time missions, many times with the use of Night Vision Goggles (although this hasn’t been confirmed in this instance); etc.

Unfortunately, all these factors alone, while common and not generally unsafe, seemed to have combined in a way that resulted in a tragedy.

DT’s slash & burn hasn’t been in effect long enough to have impacted controller staffing or established safety mechanisms at this time. That said, they absolutely WILL have devastating effects moving forward, perhaps even in the investigation of the accident. The NTSB has long been a non-partisan safety arm tasked with investigating aircraft accidents, offering conclusions and, if warranted, suggesting potential changes to our safety mechanisms in the future.

I have my doubts the NTSB will be allowed to remain as the current non-partisan entity it is, or that investigations won’t be tainted by this administration’s insistence on inserting its skewed and warped politics into every corner.

All of that said, I do absolutely believe that the mental stress this administration has already introduced into the federal and military workplaces could have played a role here. All facets of commercial and military aviation are inherently stressful already, without the added stress of an unhinged administration threatening everyone’s livelihoods and well-being.

Michelle DeAnne's avatar

Thank you for the thoughtful response. I agree with a lot of what you said. Yes, there is heavy air traffic, even at night. And that is why we have and need the NTSB in the first place. But, if people are not at their stations at the moment they are needed (because they were fired), then the results are immediate. If I jump out of my car while I'm driving on the highway, my car won't care that my absence "hasn't been in effect long enough." It will pile into whatever is in front of it. But again, thanks for the thoughtful response. Clear, calm communication is really important! :-)

SE's avatar

Agreed, although I’d like to offer a bit of a different analogy. DT’s slash & burn at the highest levels has still - for the time being - left the base intact, so I liken it more to the head of a public transit system getting fired, while the bus drivers are still out there doing their jobs. Given time, without appropriate leadership, and with a forced reduction of bus drivers, that transit system will fail, but it will still operate fine for a few weeks or months after the main head was chopped.

My point is that we’re all still in our cars, even without appropriate and reasonable leadership, while acknowledging that many of us won’t be in our cars for much longer.

Michelle DeAnne's avatar

I see what you are saying. I didn't realize these were managerial positions that were eliminated already, instead of people who do the work. Very interesting. Two things: First, are the underlings who remain being tasked with the former-managers' work, too? Are they able to keep dong "just" their own jobs right now? I"ve been in their positions (in a different field, thank goodness), and have had a very hard time keeping my own work done while covering for the boss. Second) On January 21, Arti Traffic Controller hiring was frozen, so that means we were already short of controllers. So your earlier statement about people being overworked and probably upset, thinking their jobs are going away, takes on greater weight. So I will put down my virtual pitchfork until the dust settles on why this happened. And in another few weeks, when the next plane goes down due to not enough people (God, I hope that doesn't happen!), I'll pick up my pitchfork again. Cheers!

Hannah's avatar

Thanks for stating what I didn't. I don't know why anyone can blame him for the crash.

Michael J McGee's avatar

It's telling that USAToday mentioned the Convict talking about the crash, but not his response. We know where they stand. But it was also telling that the NYT told the full story, and who he blamed.

That attachment in the God post is what the Convict actually said today. He blamed the crash on DEI and Biden. And tried to give guidance on how the helicopter pilot should fly.

First: I didn't realize that President Biden was an air traffic controller. Next: can this old fuck get any more racist than he is? Just come out and say you only want white workers and get it over with. I'm sure the hillbillies would like a job telling the planes and copters where to go.

Last: remember Convict. you may have to fly into that airport. Maybe you should hire back the people you laid off.

One of the reasons I still have my NY Times sub, and not WaPo or even L.A. Times, which would be more local for me. :-/
