This is incredible! Sen Van Hollen is tenacious and did what he went there to do. I just wish he could have brought Kilmar home.

Finally! Someone with the courage to call Trump on his bullshit and go and find out the truth. I'm so happy that Kilmar is alive. Now maybe the Congressman can negotiate his release. Wouldn't that be awesome. It would show that Trump was lying this whole time. And, who would be surprised by that? Of course, Van Hollen may have just signed his own deportation papers to the very same Salvadorian prison. But I bet Bukele would be more than willing to accept a bribe for his and Kilmar's release. After all, Bukele is a dictator and is only doing Trump's bidding because of the money he is receiving.

Oh, God. 🥹😭 THANK YOU for posting this news!

Isn’t it amazing. A Democratic senator did what DonOld couldn’t do.

Sue's avatar

The point is tRump SAID he couldn’t do it.

Bronwyn Halls's avatar

Which means, of course, that he COULD.

Three cheers for Senator Van Hollen! And thank goodness Kilmar is alive and apparently well. We need to keep up the pressure on this depraved, lawless administration and paid goons in El Salvador until Kilmar and all the other illegally deported detainees are retuned to the US and given due process as provided under our constitution. Thank you, Senator Van Hollen, for not giving up!

Thanks God… best news yet… now he needs to come back to his wife and kids… Smite those responsible!

Please, please keep up the fight!! Bring Kilmar home. And, please fight for all of those kidnapped without due process. One day, it could be me.

I vaguely recall those two endangered animals in that photo. Ah yes, actual human beings. It's slowly coming back to me now. When you're inundated with nothing but sub-human MAGAt shit stains 24/7, you tend to forget that actual humans with functioning hearts and brains still exist.

You made my night! I had to double check God, no offense 😳 . Wow I can actually go on bed with a smile on face. It has been a long, long time.....

I’m sure many of us join his wife with tears of joy. Now let’s get that man back here!!!

Karyn Milos's avatar

Hey, God, this reminds me: Can you sing a heartfelt "Bring Him Home" on a future podcast? 💖

Doreen Dalesandro's avatar

If you’re referring to the song from Les Miz, it brings me to tears every time I hear it😢

Karyn Milos's avatar

Yes. 💖💕 However, I forgot just how high it goes, especially that final note, so I'm not sure it's in God's vocal range. Then again: God will find a way. 😇

TFG thinks he can appeal SCOTUS’ decision? Quick someone get TFG a civics book! Thank you, god, for allowing Senator Van Hollen to meet with Kilmar. I hope he told Kilmar how everyone is appalled with this administration and demanding his freedom. FU TFG!

I still firmly believe that if we're going to have any serious reformation of government employees, once this administration's time is over, I think everyone who wants to be elected to ANY position in government, from dog catcher up to President, needs to take /and pass/ the same civics test given to anyone who wants to become a U.S. citizen.

From what I hear, those are fairly stringent. ;)

I am grateful he is alive.

I watched Sen Van Holland's news on Rachel Maddow & it was righteous 😉. Even better was came after when she reported the results of the latest polls: in each and every category measuring Donald's performance on his job, the unfavorable was at least 10 points BELOW the favorable, the worst category was supposedly dt's strong suit, BUT unfavorable was 20+ points BELOW favorable! Dear deity, what does this mean?

Denise Palesch's avatar

If I may…I believe he’s going to hell.

Just need confirmation from the Big Guy or his spokesman Peter.

Thank God! Now to get him and the others who have committed no crimes home.

All of the illegally prisoned persons who were not given any form of due process also need to be brought home, as a judge has ruled. I don't care what someone has done, they deserve to answer for their actions — and more importantly what they have not done — in a court of law with a qualified defense attorney. That is what the Maranda warning is all about. But I am willing to bet that none of these persons received a Maranda warning when they were arrested. If they were not given what the Constitution guarantees, none of us who dare to speak out will either.

Pamela Reed's avatar

I totally agree, C K.

Nancy's avatar

I'm with Pamela on agreeing with your sentiment, C.K., but it's "Miranda"...trust a Westerner on this. Some poor schmoe named Ernesto Miranda hadn't known about his constitutional rights (which cover EVERYONE present in the U.S., whether they're citizens or not [even those poor tourists visiting us...]) and wound up convicting himself because no one told him about them. :-/

After Miranda v. Arizona, that's when the "Miranda rights" thing became Federal law according to the 1966 Supreme Court.

You ate right, of course. Please excuse my misspelling.

No worries; not everyone knows, especially folks that might've only heard it (hopefully just from movies and T.V., not having to in real life!). :)
