“The walls are closing in. And when they do, not even Donald will be able to stop it.”

God, I hope you are right!

Republicans do not work for our country. They only work for a madman.

AND Self, AND the Oligarchy...

Do 30% of Fox News watchers believe the economy has improved? Apparently, they are shopping at different grocery stores than I am. I have had to cut back on groceries (I consider myself lucky that I don't have to choose between food and medicine. I would die either way).

Cam Choiniere's avatar

I think that’s part of their intention—to let die those who can’t afford all that they need to survive. Good Christians that they are…

Judi Purcell's avatar

That's their plan for solving the social security crisis.

David Walker's avatar

But then who would they fleece once the sheeple are dead and gone?

Bronwyn Halls's avatar

Shut up shut up! Don't think about the future, what ever you do! Think about what's jingling in your bank account now, what you can loot from the planet and the people NOW. Try not to think even as far as next year AAAAARGH and 2028 OH GOD NO. <pant pant>

Anyway, there's always people to fleece, like the rest of the world. Canada, for a start. And whole continents full of yellows, blacks and browns. Heck, several! Maybe even planets full of greys in space, who knows?

Nah, greys are too intelligent to fall for that crap. ;)

Besides, I still love this joke, where the aliens finally show up on Earth really openly, and are talking (through Universal Translators, no doubt) with the leaders of the world's countries, like the Pope...

Pope: Have you heard of Jesus Christ?

Alien Rep.: Sure! Yeah, he's cool! He swings by our planet about once a year. :)

Pope: Once a year?! He hasn't been back to visit us for 2,000 years! :(

Alien Rep.: Wow! Your chocolate must be terrible! :(

Pope: Our...chocolate.

Alien Rep.: Yeah; when he visited us the first time, we gave him a nice chocolate assortment! What did you people give him? :)

Kathie's avatar

Oh they're certainly trying to destroy us. Food?? That budget has gone to hell. Medicine?? Try being a cancer patient.....the budget ceased to exist.

Nancy's avatar

Even at Trader Joe's, where we can get like twice as many bags of groceries for half as much money, is raising their prices/doing shrinkflation. :-/

I recommend Aldi. It doesn’t support any politicians and it is very affordable.

Lol, Trump, one of the worst people in the world has a lot of chutzpah. No love for Comey for putting his thumb on the scale to get Trump elected the first time, but this retribution tour band is out of tune and full of crap.

Bronwyn Halls's avatar

I was thinkin' last night (and they'll take the stitches out tomorrow) that when I was born there were about 2.6 billion humans on the planet. Including one Donald Trump.

Now there are about 8.25 billion. Over three times as many. Instead of just one DJT there might actually be THREE. Another two, festering away, waiting to pounce and impale and suck and feed, blather and diarrhate the world dirty orange. Sleep well.

The collapse is coming, and for them it shall be most brutal, God willing. Certainly i hope to have snacks and drinks ready for when it does, that i may observe the proceedings with a not insignificant amount of glee.

If I were James Buchanan, Andrew Johnson, Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, or Warren G Harding — I would be thanking my lucky stars because after Donald Trump’s TWO Presidencies, they will never again be thought of as “the worst“ Presidents.

Dubya should also be thanking his lucky stars. Dubya would be among “the worst” – except that Trump is so many orders of magnitude worse than Dubya could have ever been, that next to Trump Dubya almost self–rehabilitates and becomes a senior statesman without Dubya having to do a single thing on his own behalf!

Americans can now include one of its own as among THE WORST rulers the world has ever created, alongside Tiberius, Pontius Pilate (the historical Pilate was vastly worse than his altercation with Jesus suggests), Caligula, Nero, Domitian, Genghis Khan, the Borgia and Medici Popes, Torquemada, Pope Leo X, Maximilian Robespierre, King Leopold II of Belgium (who engineered the mass murder of millions of Africans), Stalin and Beria, Hitler and his toadies, Mussolini, Francisco Franco, Antonio Salazar, Philippe Pétain, Vidkun Quisling, Augustín Pinochet, the Ayatollah Khomeini, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, Kim Il-sung, Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong-un, Idi Amin, Nicolae Ceaușescu, Slobodan Milošević, Vladimir Putin -- and now, Donold John Trump.

I’m noticing a pattern among the worst people in the world— they are all MEN!

Bronwyn Halls's avatar

I dunno. Lucrezia Borgia has a pretty bad rep. But try Cleopatra VII, Mary Tudor, Wu Zetian, Ranavalona I. Apparently, though, Lucrezia was and still is slandered and libelled.

Kim Bart's avatar

Off with their heads!

Nancy's avatar

No doubt Lucrezia had to be tough as nails back then, what with all the bloody (often literally) intrigue going on all around... :-/

And Empress Wu was extremely brutal, but apparently also one of the best leaders China had back then...tough call. :-/

Dozens->hundreds of men; only a few "nasty" women.

Susan B's avatar

Monsters trump would, no doubt, “admire”.

Nancy's avatar

From what I hear, Pilate was pretty much your average, run-of-the-mill brutal Roman provincial governor; the later Church made him all wishy-washy so the Jews would get all the blame for having poor J.C. offed. :-/

And even Genghis Khan wasn't much worse than most of the leaders back then; just ask anyone else's opinions about the Crusaders (and not just the guys in the Holy Land). :-/

They want everyone dead except their rich, white friends....

Oh...and the ones who will work their fields for them.

Do you see where they want to go??

Bronwyn Halls's avatar

Actually if they do it properly there'll be nothing in the US except rich white males, pneumatic willing fertile blonde females, marble buildings and golf courses. All the actual mucky disgusting stuff will be done by the underwhite slaves overseas. Not even underground, by morlocks, but a long, safe oceanic distance away.

Nancy's avatar

Not by robots, with or without AI?

Trump says Comey is a criminal who's bad for our country. Well, it takes one to know one. Comey is no hero, but it is another distraction. And them shutting down the government is one of the only things the've been successful at while in control. And yes, let's blame the Democrats for the continual failure to lead.

Scott Bernstein's avatar

You know, just a gut feeling, but I'm starting to think that maybe, just maybe they are not good people.......

Tracy L Cooper's avatar

The downfall of the GOP will not be because of Trump, it will be because of Epstein and how they're playing at deception to the American public.

Katrina Ludvig's avatar

The ease with which the lies just roll off their fingers is frightening. It's quite the skill!

Dtss's avatar

Unlike skilled, accomplished, successful liars, they don’t remember the lie told five minutes before. Contradicting themselves, many times within the same statements! How someone can listen to that and believe there is genius attached? Beyond me.

If magats were paying the least bit of attention beyond the endorphin rush of “owning the libs”, permissive bigotry that had been hidden prior to the blanket permissions in how to be the most deplorable; misogyny, much of that coming directly from women, themselves, etc, etc, et cetera. All the highs magats get from their cult leader are insults and grift aimed directly at magats, themselves. Right to their faces and they refuse to acknowledge it.

No wonder the magat 30% never changes. Until they look in the mirror and get their nose flicked by their reflection, they will stay blind to the destruction they have wrought upon the country.

If they do wake up, it very well might be too late.

Jeffrey Oswald's avatar

Who am I to suggest this, but when used in the active sense, it should be “shut down,” two words.

Begging your forgiveness!

Hmm; was the writing referring to a "shut down" in general, or a governmental "shutdown," which is so specific, it could be a proper noun with a capital 'S'? :-/

(And have you noticed: nearly all of the shut downs [shutdowns?] we've had recently have been with Republicans in control, of at least Congress...?)
