Sipping coffee in the little summer house in the northern woods of Wisconsin.

It’s quiet. It’s cool. The grass is emerald green.

Rain is pouring straight down.

A couple of rabbits ignore the rain, while they nibble the clover.

In spite of the rain, some fool bird is still singing, because it didn’t get the memo not to.

Sounds heavenly! It’s like sitting on the beach watching the birds and sunset with a cool breeze

Denise Palesch's avatar

Of course. Come over.

It’s lunchtime.

Would you prefer grilled cheese or a turkey sandwich? 😊

Nancy's avatar

How about a turkey melt? :D

It's like singing in the shower!

Denise Palesch's avatar

And singing releases those relaxing endorphins.

My dog Callie loves it when God sings karaoke.

We often sing along.

Unlike his, her intonation leaves much to be desired.

Corlis Robe's avatar

I've heard God sing karaoke.

Imma give Callie the edge here.

As soon as I typed Ca.. my phone tried to autofil "Carney." If only..

Dtss's avatar

From your phone to God’s ears. Are you there God? It’s me, America.

Idyllic. There is still beauty in the world.

That bird can be forgiven. But never the magat’s. Your little slice of divine serenity sounds like a wonderful place. I hope to get up to your neck of the woods in the autumn. Wisconsin has the most beautiful autumn colors.

Driving through Cadott, the country highway takes one over the Yellow River.

Before I drove over it heading back home one cloudy October morning, I never understood who would call the muddy water “yellow.”

Looking down at the river, the water reflected the autumn leaves on the trees along banks, and there could be no more wondering. It shimmered a brilliant yellow-gold.

Yes. I’d say you are right about the autumn color, Dtss. You enjoy your visit.

🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁

I know that is a Canadian Maple leaf. But I didn’t look very hard for another beautiful leaf awash with the colors of autumn. Thank you so much for the heads up on Cadott! I’m going to make it my mission to see that yellow river phenomenon for myself!

Thank you for the great advice God. It's not often our deities just reach right out and tell us that we deserve peace of mind and hope in our hearts. Does a body good. XOXO

You sure know Shakespeare, unlike someone we could mention who obviously never read The MErchant of Venice.

Or, for instance, even HEARD of Shakespeare. <sigh>

You beat me to it! Just got back from the protest in our little town. A good number of people showed up!

I'm back at work, after a nice long nine days of vacation, but I have ice cream in the freezer to treat myself when I get home from work. 😊 And last weekend at Minneapolis Pride was a treat in itself: Despite the times we live in, the vibe was uplifting, positive, hopeful, and determined. Take good care of yourself, God, and rest and renew your divine strength this weekend.

I took a nap too. I've been doing that more lately. Feels good to shut out the toxicity for a while.

Sometimes I think I'm living in the wrong timeline as if I slipped through a wormhole into another parallel multiverse where a vulgar former game show host is our president. My other multiverse twin must be living in a timeline where people are enjoying brunch on Sundays, the news is boring, and democracy hums along like a well-oiled espresso machine. Over there, facts still matter, civility isn't retro, and nobody's grandparents are radicalized by rightwing propaganda. My multiverse twin probably debates the best avocado toast in town, not whether the planet is round. Meanwhile, I'm here, clutching my coffee like a life raft, wondering how we veered off the script and ended up in the dystopian subplot of history’s weirdest season finale.

Dear God: No truer words were spoken, except the for the scripters in the bible, but you already knew that. It never gets better, only worse and to think we have three and half more years of this prick. I usually do not use that word, but in this instance I think it is so appropriate. Thank you God and deliver us from this evil AMEN. Betty C

As a child and teenager, tacopedo was known to make up stuff about fellow students so they would not hang or be pals with those he perceived to be "better" than he. His mother knew he had no redeeming qualities in an interview she did in the 70s.

Ever since he had the entourage, he has been trying to make everyone feel as dejected, fat, unloved, unwanted, ill-educated, ill-mannered and finally a 79 year old 4 year old at his own party. Some one showed up with a bigger hat than he.

When he dies, methinks the magaoots will slither away. For ONCE, can we make the enablers pay the price of being a traitor? you know who I mean: EVERY REPUBLICAN SENATOR and REPRESENTATIVE in the HOUSE...they need to be primaried!!!!!

Whew! I am a bit high...tis the season...Peace, Beloveds.

BTW Thank You for the delightfully old fashioned summer weekend! Loving is easy

Chump is a symptom and not a cause. Until the underlying causes are addressed, we will likely face another fascist. Robert Reich offers a good explainer on why this is the case and how to prevent future Chumps. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTQoc5Jrciw

I bought myself some garden art - a peacock. It was on sale and also 11% off besides! Also planted some beautiful plants on the walkway leading to the house. Spent time with my 13 month old grandson, too. He is the one I worry about the most. He is innocent now. God you always give good advice.

My yard, despite it being a mess most of the time, is where I find peace, even if it's just pulling a few weeds or watering the half-dead stuff. I just came in from there before it hit the 90*+ expected today. It felt good! :) I may bathe the cat - he'll hate it, but it'll make me feel better and I can pretend he's tRump for a few minutes. ;) Wash that filth right off of him!

deniway's avatar

It's good for the cat - just like going to prison would have been good for donnie.

If I could, I would travel back in time and bitchslap Fred and Mary every time they thought about conceiving that demon seed nepo baby on steroids.

I read the article on Raw Story about this. My grandparents on both sides came to this country to escape the antisemitism in Russia. I can only wonder what they would think of this country now. But I know in my heart they would be so disappointed that the country that took them in, though they still faced discrimination, has abandoned that promise out in broad daylight. The country that once welcomed in the poorest of the poor, now has decided we have no use for them. They would be mortified to see what the right and MAGA specifically, has become a full blown movement of hate.
