Have they never been to Europe? Almost everywhere I went in Europe in the 1960s, the restrooms were gender-neutral. I admit I thought it odd at first, but really needing to pee got me over it very quickly.
There's a comedian here in Australia called Wendy Harmer. She once said, "If you want to see if a bloke is good in bed, take him home, give him a lot to drink and when he's had a pee check the floor. Because if he can't get it in something THAT big…" (making oval with arms)…
While we are in a funny mood, my uncle ran the city swimming pool and had ashtrays made that said “You don’t swim in your toilet, please don’t pee in our pool”
Have also seen the sign in a public bathroom: “We aim to please. You aim too, please.”
Well, only two of them...and given that one of my library annexes is in my bathroom (I took decorating advice from W. C. Fields, but I have many more books than he did, I think), if my hubby uses my gender-neutral bathroom, he's always polite about sitting down, rather than risk hosing everything. ;-)
Not only do men sometimes sit to pee, in times and places when women wore skirts, pre-underwear days, women would stand to pee, planting their feet far apart and letting it go. That might not work so well in the average public toilet stall here in 2025, but in the Great Outdoors it worked well enough.

Agree. Newsom is far from perfect. Dems must give up on finding the mythical perfect leader and embrace what works, now. Dems need to maintain a big tent to rally around ending Chump's fascist regime. Purity tests and perfection will only get in the way of this larger existential mission.
Kudos to Newsom for having the smartest people who know EXACTLY how to troll a Narcissist! I'm a therapist that specializes in people who are recovering from being in relationship with a narcissist and this is brilliant. Mostly I prescribe ignoring them, but when a narcissist reaches this level of power, you have to fight fire with fire. I love watching TACO and his ilk implode.
A twisted MAGA subset might eventually might start redefining Epstein Island as a convent for “novices” (I had 4 priests and a nun in the family so not intended as a sacrilege but as a comment on MAGA’s ability to recast history for the convenience of their “Chosen One”)

Before Proposition 13 finally passed way back when in California (which almost gutted our public schools overnight, leading us to institute a lottery to pay for them X-P), our property taxes were, indeed, getting so ridiculous that my mom almost went ahead and paid someone $5 to get an "official pastor card" and declare our family farm "sacred ground" (if it hadn't passed, we probably would've lost the farm due to property taxes).
That's just it! They are the textbook definition of being able to dish it out but can't take it. It hurts their fee-fee's. They refused to wear masks during covid yet appear to be OK with masked ICE agents.
