No, Democrats are not cheering for American companies to fail. They are cheering for oligarchs to fail!! They are cheering for fascists to fail. They are cheering for tyranny to fail. Thank you, God! Amen! Awomen! Ramen!

And bullshit is crying for empathy where they will find NONE.

This is why institutions and the rest of us should stand up for the right side of history and do the right thing. It literally pays. And bullies only respond to those who fight back. If you concede and capitulate you are considered weak and you will lose. Be like God and do the right thing!

During an interview with Joe Rogan, Elon Musk said the downfall of Western civilization was because of empathy. Now, he's complaining that people are protesting against his company because, "I haven't harmed anybody. What happened to all the empathetic Liberals?"

This is a classic narcissist move. He pushes people to the breaking point with his cruelty, then plays the victim when people have had enough.

I hope Tesla stock continues to plummet to hell. He is nobody without all his money. No one deserves it more than him.

Truths in today's post! a) Caving to MAGA can hurt the wallet, eh, Target? b) GOP is a bunch of fucking whiny hypocrites, c) YouTube play button next on the MAGA attack list for being woke, d) MAGAts like that POS Raichik lie whenever it's advantageous, which is all the time, e) they are overplaying their hand by pissing off even their own stooges by cutting gubmint monies

Hey, hey! How about that Tesla stock? It’s going down faster than Lauren Boebert in a movie theater!!

We need a clear-cut way of distinguishing citizens of the Free United States of America from the Agent Orange followers. I submit that we call those MAGA followers be designated as citizens of the fascist Country of MAGAstan. A clearly defined area of the former United States of America.

They walk freely Among Us. And they always have. Agent Orange gave them license to hate. There are millions of happy racists now when before, most had the good sense to keep their idiocy to themselves. It's a crying shame

It's really surprising how strong the need for "permission" is. When you were allowed to smoke in restaurants, no one did - until the first person lit up. Then the place was an inferno. There have been various experiments done where people won't lift a finger, even to save life, until someone else -a "leader" - does it first. Someone can be literally bleeding to death in the street - and no-one does anything until someone yells "Hey! Help!" - -then they all rush in. . .

Nancy's avatar

Didn't Harlan Ellison do a short story about that? Where someone died while everyone watched, because no one stood up and did anything, not wanting to "get involved" and waiting for "the other one" to start? :-/

(Depressing as hell, but that's Ellison...)

I saw a documentary about this - and other unwritten "rules" that we obey (Guy in a t shirt and jeans? No power. Guy in t shirt and jeans with peaked cap/badge and clipboard? People obey.) One of the experiments was - they invited 20 people, all types, all ages to a big house to take part in "important government research". Shown into a room with French doors onto patio, closed. Asked by researcher to "NOT LEAVE THE ROOM" while he gets "papers" as that would spoil a six month research project. Everyone sits down, starts to chat.

Guy running experiment STARTS TO BLOW SMOKE IN UNDER HOUSE DOOR! Faint noises of distress heard from other rooms. People notice smoke. Comments start. Hey, that's odd. No-one moves. I dunno, they asked us not to leave. No one moves. Coughing starts a bit. I dunno, maybe we should? yeah, but - six months of research? Someone out there must know. More coughing. Finally one young guy stands up and says " Sod this - I'm off!" and heads for the French doors. Mad rush to follow him.

A fire officer said after that if that had been a REAL fire - they'd all have been unconscious or suffering from smoke inhalation by then.

Strangely enough, a couple of years later there was a real fire in a Woolworths in the UK. Several people died - and the fire officers couldn't work out why the ones who died were the ones nearest to an exit. Then they found out - they'd all been in the cafeteria - and queuing to pay for their meal. . .couldn't just walk out without paying! Sometimes it pays to disobey.

It would be interesting to know the political persuasion of those they arrested for the Tesla vandalism. Could be they are Dems at all and just anarchists who like to do anarchy things like vandalize and burn things.

Reminds me of those assholes with the Buddhist statues...iirc, even the other Muslims were going, "Psst, hey! If those Western morons want to PAY YOU to get those things out of your country, LET THEM! You'll get more of their cash and you won't have to look at the idols any more!" and they still blew them up, not because of any "religious reasons" they might've claimed, but just because they're assholes who like destroying things (see ISIL-ISIS as well. I'd looooooove to see those li'l dickheads try that kind of shit over in Turkey... The Turks are VERY proud of their ancient landmarks ;->).

I noticed at the end of your piece that you have a new subscriber. He signed his name Q. Would that be the one from Star Trek or the other one who's been melting Minds over there on the right for years?

Could well be. 🤔 It would be helpful(?) if he were to drop in and help us out a bit.

As trademark paralegal of many years, I find it amazing that these business leader fail to understand brand recognition. I would hazard a guess that a lot of people who are avoiding these businesses (Target, Amazon, etc.) are doing so less because of specific political positions, but because they are repulsed by the behavior of these business leaders. And those leaders are directly linked to the company brands.

We all enjoy mocking MAGAts, but how many of us know that the outfit Elon always wears is actually a Dark MAGA uniform which is a black MAGA hat and t-shirt? He's part of the group of billionaires who are working to take over the US. They are following the Dark Enlightenment philosophy of Curtis Yarvin (aka mencius moldbug). He's a neo-reactionary, neo-totalitarian, former blogger who has quietly developed quite a rightwing following. He is where all these screwball ideas and plans are coming from. He is anti-democracy and anti-government. When fighting to stop the take-over of this country, we need to understand the basis of what we're fighting against. Check out Curtis Yarvin and learn everything you can about him. While you're at it, learn about Peter Thiel, too. He's the power and money behind JD Vance who is being set up to take over from Trump once the billionaires wrest power from him. This feels like a horror movie come to life.

Also that jerkface over in Italy around the turn of the 21st century; he apparently made it cool to be a fascist again and get away with it. X-P

Tanking Elon Stocks? Laughing Aloud!

Hey, you with the logo like a vampire's fang:

What part of "No" don't you understand?

Nancy's avatar

To be fair, was that part of the logo before he bought the company, or was that his idea? ;->

Bronwyn Halls's avatar

In the real world it's one-eighth of a possible "wheel" at the heart of an electric motor first designed by Nikola Tesla (look up "induction motor"); the capital T also honours Tesla himself. The logo has been further stylised by graphic mavins since the Rusk took over.

But who cares? To me, it's a vampire's fang!

Nancy's avatar

Yeah, he's made it so (not to mention an insult to vampires everywhere, but there isn't an ADL for them; if there had been, they'd've sued Meyers a long time ago ;->), like The Original Dear Leader ruined the "Roman salute" 80+ years ago. X-P
