We need good news and this is one story that helps.

Here's to many, many more!

This is brilliant news, first for Kilmar and his family, then for the rest of us as individuals, and then the nation itself. It is so wonderful.

Awesome! I'm happy as can be for Kilmar, and I hope he successfully sues the pants off them for wrongful imprisonment. Bonus points because he made Pam Bondi out to be the liar we all know she absolutely is.

Tracy L Cooper's avatar

Only problem with that is we pay. I don't think he can sue her outside her "official office."

John S. Way's avatar

He can sue the US government at large. In fact, there should be a class action lawsuit aimed squarely at them for unlawful imprisonment and severe violation of human rights.

Tracy L Cooper's avatar

Who funds the US Government? The taxpayers.

I will gladly pay extra taxes for Kilmar and the others to get some compensation for what they've been through! Or maybe they can take the $$ out of the newly increased funding for DHS or Border Patrol budget?

Tracy L Cooper's avatar

The latter would be perfect.

Abolish ICE and use those funds to pay the victims

Please note that the song that they are singing is El Pueblo Unito Jamas Será Vencido! "The People United Shall Never Be Defeated!" It was a song of the Chilean Revolution that has spread and is used widely throughout the world now.. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cuzl_QTBlWI I play and sing it all the time these days! In Solidarity!

Seeing Kilmar with his family and his video thanking his supporters (that’s all of us!), gives me chills and tears. I’m so terribly thankful he is home!

So good to see this. I hope he stays safe and can get back to a somewhat normal life. And that he and other abductees sue the pants off of this fascist regime.

I thank my Lord and Savior, my Heavenly Father that Kilmar is home with his family. Father, deliver us from evil. I know why trump called my President Joe Biden a pedophile, because he is that pedophile. Lord deliver us from the Ukrainian Grandmothers Satan, Putin. Who is the deceiver of all of mankind? Who is the Father of all lies? Satan is his name. He was in Hitler, now he is in Putin. I believe what my eyes. His works call his name.

Actually, could I give you amazing folks some really good news from across the pond?

My friend, Susannah, and I are both survivors of CSA and other kinds of abuse and have a lot of collective experience of working with people who have experienced trauma etc. We are both also trained teachers and Susannah has tons of experience of running youth theatre groups.

Well, we have set up an inclusive No Girl Left Behind club for age 11+ girls, which is a safe space that isn't school, where the young people can be themselves. The idea is to catch them before they make the transition to high school and help them to have the creative confidence to navigate their teens and beyond. We do loads of play based stuff, and it is a lot of fun. A couple of the mums stay too and are relearning how to enjoy doing craft stuff etc and just be silly. It's fantastic and we have just been awarded a small grant, so we will be secure for a couple of years.

We also want to start a No Boy Left Behind club as well, as we know that an antidote to the toxic masculinity is sorely needed, but first things first!

I'm sharing this to give you all hope, and ffs, we need hope, don't we? It can feel so fucking relentless, but we are all doing stuff in our our own spheres which will hopefully make a difference. All the small, everyday bits of joy join up and really do change lives for the better. I had no confidence for many years, and am astonished that I am now doing this!

Keep going folks, believe in your abilities and do not let the bastards grind you down!!!

Thank you God and Jesus too for doing everything you do and for bringing this community together xxx

Why oh why would they ship him to a country (again) that he isn't from. OMG! I pray he gets his day in court now and is exonerated!

Next fight against the regimes cruelty: keeping him in the USA as a free person with charges expunged.

Read article in it entirety because the Uganda program is not a done deal & says is temporary. Also, Uganda has conditions that Mr Garcia appears not to meet.

Of course, the regime is going to follow cruelty to set an example & cause fear this Monday morning:

If he's a criminal, Uganda won't accept him. If he's not a criminal, that's different (make up your minds, Federal child fuckers), though they prefer that "asylum seekers" (not deportees, especially not "criminal ones") are from African countries first.

What a concept! :D

At last, good news for a change.
