I was an EMT for 25 years. I have never seen such a relaxed response to a "dying" person, allegedly in cardiac arrest. It’s entirely possible, maybe likely, that he’s brain dead, but his body hasn’t figured it out yet. And I find the phrase "rigor tortoise" absolutely uproarious.

Or they restarted his heart but he had been in asystole so long that his neurological function is irrevocably damaged

Exactly! I did chest compressions for 45 minutes on a guy that was already down when we got there. Didn’t help one bit, but at least it made the family feel like we were trying. And none of them left the country immediately after, or got new flooring.

In a situation like that, it is more merciful that the heart did not restart. My wife has a childhood friend who went into cardiac arrest in her forties. She was in a remote area and CPR was delayed for an extended period of time. By the time a heartbeat was re-established, she had suffered severe brain damage and has been in a vegetative state for 25 years or so.

The nearest hospital to my service location is 45 miles away. Lots of hiking trails, woods/logging roads, snowmobile trails, etc. It’s not a good idea to choose a location like this for your cardiac arrest. Or any location, really, especially if you’re alone.

He won’t be missed .

My daughter died at home from CHF and there's no amount of trying that would have brought her back. Sorry, but paying for life support in the ICU, is taking up wasted space for someone who desperately needs it.

So his wife is out of the country, and they are installing new flooring in his house. You can just feel the love for him. If his family has already moved on, so should we.

The man literally had a stroke on camera. Wow. But the weekend at Mitch’s and princess bride “he’s only mostly dead” bits? Priceless!!!! Lmao!

In medical terms he may be "DOV." Dead on a Vent.

Can’t find Mitch? He is probably on the bullet train heading straight to hell!

They are keeping him alive so his wife could finish her 3 week trip to China. Odd that his health took a backseat to a “visit” to her homeland. 🤔

While Mitch was in the hospital Ms. McConnell was in China. Allow me to make this statement first and foremost: I DO NOT BELIEVE IN CONSPIRACE THEORIES. Now I am going to negate that comment. Elaine Chao was in China when Mitch was sent to the hospital. Elaine Chao was the Secretary of Labor under Bush and Sect of Transportation under Trump. Plus Mitchey-poo being a senior senator this woman has sat at the Cabinet table twice and has basic Washington political gossip morning noon and night. She did not come back.

She left on June 12th two days before Mitch grabbed his chest and was carted off to the hospital (remember he is 84) she did not return until July 7th. Twenty five day trip, 23 of those days he is in the hospital. But if your spouse was in the hospital and was old and feeble and was on the edge of the next lifetime don't you think you might move heaven and earth to get back if for no other reason than to say goodbye? She is also riding first class so we are not talking sitting in the back of the plane with a 2 year old kicking her seat.

Also according to a McConnell spokesperson “The secretary was on a long-planned trip in China to support her family’s philanthropic endeavors,” Exactly what philanthropic endeavors does China allow or want? Love to know if anyone here happens to know.

The Chinese Government has very strick laws about monetary policies. You can not take your money from Chinese banks out of the country. You have to spend it in China.

Now lets get back to the conspiracy and money. If someone earns money and it is deposited in a Chinese bank account and they have to use it in China do you think maybe our fair Ms McConnell was shopping with kickbacks from the Chinese gov't for the last 25 days? At this moment if I were Mitch and younger and healthier I might sue for desertion. But Mitch is and has been brain dead for a while. A long while so who knows. But so many questions are floating about her and the tag the merry widow might be appropriate. Or black widow. Anyway why take so long to get back to your nearest and dearest and how much stuff did she bring back? And how much money did she spend. Inquiring minds wish to know.

Mitchie is the worst of the worst.

You, O g-D, are among the best of the best!

He's probably in netherworld limbo trying to find the most evil soul he can to have sent back as a new scotus pick for when alito retires.

Christy Jobe Carter's avatar

Alison made it clear the other day he wasnt retiring. If I was married to the nutcase Mrs. Alison i would work until a 15 minutes before my funeral to avoid her.

Spell check made ALITO in to Allison

I don't trust a word any of them say. Also...Alito and Thomas aren't spring chickens, so you never know what might happen.

I'm an RN who worked critical care for many years. Every two years when I needed to recertify for my ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support, a more intense type of CPR) we always discussed the very low percentage of people who are successfully revived and return to their baseline level of function. These EMTs were in no hurry, looked more like a transport team for a funeral home.

He’s a place holder until the Kentucky August deadline for special elections passes. In Kentucky you cannot hold special elections 56 days before the November election.

It's not that he is "merely dead, but really most sincerely dead."

I'm pretty sure "Lady Death" is Santisima Muerte, and I can just see her with her arms crossed and narrowed eyes in the discussion about McConnell. A stickler indeed.
