I read an article about the radicalization of Christians fed by Trump this morning. MAGA Christians are no different than radicalized Muslims. When I respond to them I usually include the phrase "Jesus weeps."
Another informative resource on the history of White Christian Nationalism is the documentary called Bad Faith on Amazon. You are right. They are "jihadist Christians" who are hell-bent on destruction and who drape their movement in a Christian facade. They've co-opted Christianity for their own evil agenda and in the process are giving peaceful loving Christians a bad name. Just like Muslim radicals give loving peaceful Muslims a bad name. It's a disgrace!

The police knocked on my door last night, in my very diverse neighborhood. I couldn’t imagine what they wanted. I opened the door to a slight, soft spoken very pretty, young Black female policewoman. She was going door-to-door with information about firework safety. I asked her what involvement they had with ICE. She said unequivocally the police are hands off and will not assist ICE. I’ve lived in this city long enough to know there are dirty cops, but I appreciate those who have maintained their digniity, serving and protecting humanity, as part of a civil servant’s duty.
But do you not have a peephole in your door (not every door does, and it blows me away)? Could she have slipped her I.D. under the door or in the mail drop in the door for you to check out, had you asked for it? :-/

The best people in my life do not claim to be Christian. They are some form of pagans, atheist etc. They all have more love & concern for others in their little fingers than any of these so-called Christians. The evangelical Christians are bringing about the fall of their religion by their own words & actions.
I can only name one or two good people in my life who profess to be Christians. I live in a deeply red, Bible Belt city loaded with churches and Bible colleges. I can no longer trust loudly professing Christians. They've done more than enough damage to me.
I would never admit publicly to being a Christian these days, although consider myself to be one, because the MAGAts have ruined that word. I won't admit to being a "Patriot" either.

Pagan is one way to describe it, but I feel that each one of us can talk directly with god sans intermediaries.

Dear God & Co., I think that what we are contending with is an administration composed primarily of psychopaths. Most of the signs of psychopaths are 1) an uncanny ability to appear charming, warm and trustworthy. These traits enabled Ted Bundy to slaughter 70+ women. 2) a total lack, in the more severe cases, of empathy, compassion and conscience. The aforementioned Bundy stated, before he was executed, that he had no remorse, no regrets, and that he killed because it brought him pleasure, 3) many have the ability to turn empathy on and off, like a switch, enabling them to appear as just folk...all while turning it off so that they can pursue their less savory hobbies and 4) an intense pursuit of power...the kind that gives power over others. 5) they are very good at reading people and finding the right buttons to push. These are just the beginning. And unless and until we fully understand that this country, and large parts of the world, are being "governed" by truly, unutterabely insane guys - whose pathologies include a complete unwillingness and inability to EVER GIVE UP once their 'target' has been chosen - we will continue to see this shit escalate. We have to find a constitutional way to identify and weed out these guys BEFORE they take power. And that is another aspect - once they gain a foothold, they never let go, unless they are made to. How we do that is something we need to discover or create, especially since it is estimated that around 25% of us hairless apes have the more dangerous forms of psychopaths. Sadly, too many see them as strongmen who will save them from the things that go bump. Actually, it is more a spectrum, really, and everyone has some aspects of it, although most of us never act it out in horrid ways.
