Here’s where I struggle with the MAGAts outrage about victims of pedophilia: they should and they should care at least as much about children in Gaza who have died from bombs and starvation and are still dying from starvation and bombs in a genocide that is so painful to acknowledge and it must be; about the children here whose parents are kidnapped in front of them; about children dying of gun violence; about children who may have no food or education because of the big fucking-ugly bill. Children are children. Is it only fertilized eggs before they become people old enough to be sexually abused by famous adults that are the concern? I chose nonparenthood 60 years ago. I care about others’ children, those known to me and not. Who are we?
