Aliens finally come to Earth very obviously and start talking with world leaders. One of them is the Pope, who asks if they've ever heard of Jesus Christ.
"Oh, Jesus? Yeah, he's cool! We love him! He swings 'round our planet every year or so."
"WHAT?! Wow...he hasn't come back here for over 2000 years. :("
"Hmm; your chocolate must be really terrible."
"Our...chocolate..."
"Yeah! When he first came to visit us, we gave him a nice chocolate assortment! What did you folks give him? :)"
O Lord, I teared up at this. even God deserves a day off. I'mmo follow your lead as best as I can and watch some football (English style -- MANCHESTER DERBY TODAY) and have another cup of coffee and pet my cats. love you, God.... <3
I have always found that poetry leaks or springs to and from my mind as a product of my anxiety. The poems (and my paintings which have served me in much the same way) are my personal outlet. The valve of my release, the balm, at times, that re-informs my pragmatic foundation during the utter chaos of our social and political angst.
I have looked back at my life with profound gratitude and prayerful thankfulness. There have been parents, Siblings, tragedies and triumphs. There has been marriage and precious grandchildren. I believe I’ve been blessed with the ups and downs of life and have learned to respond in healthy ways to deprivation as well as to abundance. I still deal with injuries and healing. My point?
Here goes…
In one of my employments I swore to protect and defend our Constitution of The United States Of America. I still keep that promise! I am horrified to witness the possibility of our constitution’s relatively recent ongoing demise. My distress is overwhelming me. Yup. I’ve been through a lot and have survived. But this moral morass has broken me. I cannot escape it. I cannot get away from it. I cannot condone the injustice that our beloved nation is agreeing to allow at every new day of evil imposition upon our Nation of good citizens.
Enjoy your day. As a child, Sunday was church and off to Grandmas house to visit with Great Grandma, Grandma and Grandpa, Aunts and Uncles, cousins and anyone else who came along. Her door was open to all. Great memories! ♥️♥️♥️
God, now I know why I don’t play video games; watching that made me quite dizzy 😵💫 😆 thanks for the nature and baby animals pictures ❤️ I hope you have a relaxing day doing all the things you love ☺️ See you tomorrow, hopefully 🙏
Not all video games are created equal; many of the MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Games) are lovely, available on one's own desktop or laptop computer, and quite leisurely (you don't HAVE to do dungeon raids, etc., depending on the game).
At one point I was playing these games all at the same time (not simultaneously; I don't have that many computers, but you get the idea): World of Warcraft (which has...issues, up to and including the community, but you don't have to engage with that [if you do, hope you get in a decent guild; mostly one that doesn't care if you have male or female characters, or what you are yourself]), City of Heroes (now defunct, but that was their own fault), and Everquest II, which I actually recommend. :) You can focus on all sorts of things there, including just making things (crafting, or Trade-skilling [usually without the hyphen]). And it's a pretty decent community, on average. :)
There are other games, like Lord of the Rings Online, No Man's Sky and Starfield (both of which are sci-fi exploration games), etc. Many of them have Free-to-Play options, just to try them out. :)
Another way to do "video games" is through a group of buddies doing Virtual Tabletop Gaming, with Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder or some other traditional RPG (personally, our group is doing tabletop gaming on a real table, playing Pathfinder 1st Edition; it's great fun, but it helps that we're all local to the area). :)
They don't all have to be fraught with "spastic twitch and hope you still have the neural response time of a 20-year-old" (or heck, even the /vision/; there's a comic, undoubtedly drawn and/or written by a gamer, comparing what tabletop gamers are looking for at each age range...by the time they get to my age, it's mostly: "LARGE PRINT!"). ;-)
To quote Monty Python: Good idea, O Lord! 💖✨️ Enjoy your day of rest! It's the middle of my work week, so I don't get to watch football today, but our game (Vikings) is this evening, so the store should get nice and quiet about 7 pm. 😁
"Of COURSE, it's a good idea! And stop groveling! EVERY time I try to talk to someone, it's 'sorry this', 'forgive me that', 'IM' NOT WORTHY!' It's just like those miserable psalms; they're SO depressing.'"
You haven't lived until you've played the DVD version of Holy Grail that has an option for a Japanese language track with (re-translated back) English subtitles... X-D
My hubby and I can quote the movie verbatim, at least along with the lines, but when we saw that different take on it...oh my You, o Lord, You almost had us heading for Heaven, we came close to dying laughing. X-D
Take care of yourself, God. Enjoy your day of rest. We need you as much as you need us. Love you ❤️
Ditto, God. Sorry so many of us have let You down.
Jesus 'took some time off' and we never saw him again! Take a break, but please don't leave us!
I still love the joke:

Jesus is like Frosty the Snowman: He'll be back again, someday. 😊
more than just appearing on toast

Is the “Manchester Derby” not a very large hat?
not quite, at least not for Manchester United, who were soundly defeated by Manchester City.... XD
Is that like the City of London and London the city? Both different? :-/
pretty much! XD
And on rhe seventh day, God rested.
Enjoy your day of fun, football and foliage!
Thanks GOD. You raise me up.

Get some rest. You've earned it.

You inspired me God! My day is going to be all mine today. I'm going to shut out all of the cr$p and enjoy myself! See you tomorrow!
I was on vacation last week. I needed a break from the insanity. Now, it’s back to reality. 😟

Bless you God. Many, many thanks for you 😄🤗🥰💝♾️
Don't forget to nap. Amen.
Good for you. We will still be here. Tomorrow is the next day.
What a week! 😵💫
Eat, sleep, socialize (or veg out) & commune with nature to recharge the body, brain and soul.
Waiting for it to rain here to revitalize nature . Been very dry.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who has Holy Grail memorized. 😁
Both of my sisters will tell you they've never seen the movie, but they've heard every word of it.

At least the floor was well rolled-on... :D
Oh, yeah! The DVD version!
"It's only a model."
And stop groveling! It’s like those miserable Psalms, they’re so depressing, now knock it off!
Yes, O Lord.
I'm averting my eyes, O Lord.
A well deserved break! I love that you see us a baby elephants Definitely adorable.
