It’s time for the House Oversight Committee to bring Hegseth in and question his lies about malnourished sailors who’ve lost 20-30 pounds in the last 250 days aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

And he needs to take a breathalyzer test right after he takes an oath with his hand on the Bible.

Damn straight, deborah. I bet dollars to donuts that Ranking Member of Oversight, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA, the Pride of Long Beach) and his 20 Dem committee members are back in DC now and raising hell over this latest Hegseth scandal — but sadly, Dems are not in charge. Meanwhile, Oversight Chair James Comer and his 25 Repuke committee members are on vacation until after Labor Day.

deborah hennessy's avatar

Democrats may not be in charge, but they can raise enough alarm that the American people pay attention!

Punkette's avatar

I feel sure they will, especially Ranking Member Garcia. Military family members will be all over it too. Their voices are needed right now.

The end to this pathetic excuse for an administration cannot come soon enough, hopefully before this Brylcreem Bozo gets us all killed.

Mary M Leal's avatar

Love the "Brylcreem Bozo" designation.

God,

I liked how you changed his title to Secretary of War Crimes. That's exactly what he is. It shouldn't surprise anyone that this is all a cover up for his complete incompetence. What do you expect from someone who fires all the senior generals?

Bronwyn Halls's avatar

Oh, the inhumanity… Sailors and Marines aboard US ships are unwilling prisoners trapped at sea suffering lack of food, while The Rump and his favourites sneak to safety in an effing CATERING truck. They probably stripped that of every crumb, too.

The vile and venomous Hegadeath should spend the rest of his days at Guantanamo with the inevitability of random hot poker intrusions.

Hegdeath is a good one, hadn’t heard that yet.

Jennifer Roussel's avatar

Yes. Hell is too good for that self serving piece of shit. I want him humiliated in every form available before he goes to Guantanamo or a worse prison. I want him treated the way he jacked off to every innocent prisoner that he was responsible for. It will happen. And, last but not least, I want little donold to die screaming in terror, knowing that he will never see heaven but will spend hundreds of reincarnations poor and of color, starting with cockroaches.

Anne Fletcher-Jones's avatar

That would be a great punishment, if only he were aware that it was one.

Mary Hall's avatar

Followed by waterboarding just for kicks.

Bronwyn Halls's avatar

Waterboarding a cockroach? Now, that's just MEAN.

Dear God, I love your commentary on Pete Hegseth. I don’t like to cuss in writing, but the label Prick, fits him so well! I will subscribe to your Newsletter today.

We have got to stop phrasing things as “l thought I couldn’t get any [comparative adjective] …” and “could trump et al. get any more [adjective]?”, and similar. Because they are taking it as a challenge. Possibly even a dare.

Thank God we have God to keep us informed and entertained! Oh Lord, please keep on talking sense in this senseless period of time.

Next destination for shitfaced drunk HagueSeth ought to be the ICC Hague, Netherlands. They are prepared to prosecute and punish. The courts here including scotus are compromised. His arrogant incompetence is compromising, sickening and destroying our brave military AND the world. Enough of his cosplaying.

Hagueseth. I forgot about that one. I gotta remember it!

Google says this about Iran destroying 90% of the Fifth Fleet's massive supply depot in the middle east: "Sustained Iranian missile and drone attacks heavily damaged Naval Support Activity Bahrain—the headquarters and primary logistics hub of the U.S. Fifth Fleet—forcing the U.S. Navy to overhaul its regional supply chain in 2026. Repeated strikes between February and June 2026 hit critical shore infrastructure, including headquarters buildings, emergency warehouses, and satellite terminals, causing an estimated $400 million in structural damage. With the Bahrain facility compromised, the Pentagon moved its primary regional sustainment operations to the British-controlled island of Diego Garcia. This shift lengthened the maritime supply chain to roughly 2,200 miles away from carrier strike groups operating near the Gulf of Oman. The extended distance created logistical bottlenecks and shortages of non-essential provisions for extended deployments, such as aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln."

They didn't tell the American people that a massive--and crucial--US installation had been functionally destroyed, did they? Did anyone reading this blog know this? (And I guess they consider food a non-essential provision for the Lincoln's sailors.)

Yup. That’s the point today! We know now.

Kandarohe's avatar

Worship you, God! You are the only one that made the connection between the mysterious lack of food & water on the Lincoln and the (secret) utter destruction of a huge US military installation in the middle east! Duh!

What fresh hell is that grey thing on the tray? It's worth an excoriation by itself.

Amy Jahsman's avatar

Indeed.

It looks hostile to life.

Judy D's avatar

He never should have been made Secretary of Defense.

Tim's avatar

Kegsbreath probably told the sailors on the USS Lincoln to 'suck it up'. "They knew what they signed up for when they took their oath."

MJ Firby's avatar

That’s been the surprising attitude of most of the comments at military.com when this comes up. “Suck it up buttercup”. And then the inevitable stories of the hardships they had during their service, which all should really end with “uphill both ways”.

No wonder Trump is attacking the ICC lately with threats.
