I've found that I love Scott Dworkin's daily substack, not only for his excellent journalism and his humor, but also because every day he lists from 4 to 12 simple, timely, relevant actions to take from home that really do make a difference. The perfect way to contribute to the resistance without creating further trauma to my compromised health.
I'll add, bless the Chief of Police in Philadelphia, she's a boss. She's ready for the fake police to come to her town where she will lock them up for any law violation, including wearing masks. There are real heroes in our ruined landscape. Let them inspire us to stand up and resist.

I would like to give a shout out to actual police officers. They are trained professionals (granted there are rotten apples in every profession). They are real law-enforcement officers. ICE are not law enforcement officers. They are immigration enforcement officers. They have no legal authority over US citizens, except in very few instances such as someone trying to shoot up the Neighborhood
I suspect there are a lot of professional law enforcement officers who are chagrined at being lumped in with those evil clowns
Advice I keep hearing is to call the police whenever ICE shows up to do their entirely unauthorized and out of control terrorism acts. Local/state law-enforcement professionals are sick of this is too, and they will at least write an incident report when called to the scene of a disturbance. When a private citizen calls and reports men with guns on their sidewalk and that they are afraid for their safety, the PPD is obligated to respond.
We must all remember that our numbers are great. These insane oligarchs will not win if we keep up the noise and the protests, and try as best we can to keep our money out of their pockets. Defund ICE!
Fellow rebels, friends, colleagues, allies, adversaries, I stand before with a heavy heart. I stand now with a difficult message. I believe we are in crisis. The distance between what is said and what is known to be true has become an abyss. Of all the things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous.
The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped form our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest. This chamber’s hold on the truth was finally lost on the Minneapolis streets. What took place, what happened in Minneapolis was unprovoked murder. Yes, murder. And that truth has been exiled from this chamber. And the monster screaming the loudest, the monster we helped create, the monster who will come for us all soon enough, is the Trump Regime.
People who believe in the Constitution and rule of law are NOT rebels. We are normal, average, everyday people. The "rebels" are in the regime , the ones shitting on the Constitution and rule of law.
Yet we see and know the truth. As long as we continue to repeat it loud and clear we will prevail. That’s why we must protest in all the ways a person can.
there should be a statewide stoppage in Minnesota. Shut everything down. Do what the Italians do. If gas stations are shut down, ICE can't fill up or go pee or buy anything to eat. If restaurants shut down, ICE would have nowhere to eat. If stores are shut down, ICE would have no place to pee or buy goods. People just stay home. No one on the streets to harass. Do what the Italians do. It works. It speaks volumes. And if any businesses do stay open, you know who to boycott. Be like an Italian!
My friend asked me not to protest because they will kill us. If I don't, who will? We cannot let these bastards win. I am 70 years old. I can't think of a better way to leave this world.

The fact that they're sending 2000 ICE agents tells me they are trying to escalate civil unrest. It's a powder keg about to explode. And at some point civilians are going to say "Screw this" and start shooting back. Then they'll talk about how they're the victims. Classic DARVO move.

Scripture is explicit that leaders are accountable not only to the law, but to God for how power is exercised (Romans 13:1-4; Micha 6:8)
I am increasingly troubled by actions that are not aligned with Christianity, Scripture, or the foundational principles of our democracy. In particular, I am concerned about:
• The normalization of using military force or law enforcement, including ICE against civilians, immigrants, residents, and U.S. citizens in ways that appear coercive rather than protective.
• Efforts to suppress dissent, protest, journalism, or speech through intimidation or censorship.
• The erosion of due process, truthfulness, and accountability in favor of fear-based governance.
Scripture repeatedly warns leader against abusing power. God’s concern is not strength for its own sake, but justice exercised with restraint and humility:
“Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees.” (Isaiah 10:1)
“What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)
“Whoever wants to be first must be servant of all.” (Mark 9:35)
“The authorities ae God’s servants, sent for your good.” (Romans 13:4)
Jesus consistently rejected coercion and violence as tools of righteousness, and Scripture affirms that truth does not fear scrutiny or dissent. “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) The misuse of state power to silence, punish, or scapegoat is incompatible with both Christian teaching and constitutional principles.
I am respectfully urging yo to stand up for what is right:
• Uphold constitutional protections and civil liberties for all people.
• Reject the misuse of military or law-enforcement power against civilians.
• Defend truth, free, expression, and democratic norms.
• Lead with moral courage rather than political expediency.
Elections are approaching. Many people of faith are paying close attention- not only to party or policy, but to character, integrity, and fidelity to the values leaders claim to represent. Scripture reminds us that leadership is stewardship, and stewards will be held accountable. “”But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.” (Luke 12:48)
I will be watching how the authority entrusted to you is used.
