Thank you, God, for military leaders like Doug Krugman, who in his resignation speech tells us there are legions within the military who are also questioning the idea of following orders from Donold (I like to call him Don the Con). So glad I finally decided to pay for a subscription. Thank you for the discount.

that don’t obey sign is so simple, so effective. kudos to whoever. fucked them up.

Yes, reminds me of a bumper sticker when I was a kid, that said: "QUESTION AUTHORITY"

(when bumper stickers were very popular; revealing my age)

Nancy's avatar

Oh, they're still available; there are a few lefty sites that are willing to sell them for a donation. :)

I've seen cars, relatively new ones, whose back ends are like covered in stickers, but I'm not sure how brave folks are gonna be these days, especially if they're not on bumpers but just sitting in back windows (or taped up; my bumper's weird plastic, so it's way easier to have them "on" the window). Cars can be so easily vandalized... :(

Mad respect for Captain Krugman and Admiral Holsey for their moral clarity. But their justified departure means two less officers who understand and revere the Constitution.

Amanda Allie's avatar

Yeah they’re absolutely destroying our professional military and replacing it with one that more resembles a fringe militia.

But when the good ones are forced out….where will that leave US??

BJTS's avatar

That is what I fear. Just like Congress, they will be replaced with spineless sycophants who will do anything to please dear leader.

Amanda Allie's avatar

When the good ones leave, they will be replaced by loyalists. But I don’t think that they can sustain that for more than a few years so hopefully WE THE PEOPLE can dismantle this shit show before then.

If we can vote in 2026, that'll give us a leg up, I think. :)

Those with real power are the ones who stand up and say “NO” to all the money mad , power greedy , crooks who think they own your world.

They think because they have vulgar amounts of money they will tell us what to do? That was what “Kings” thought!!!!! Tax the filthy power crazies and then take your country back…. Not “back” in time, but back in educated, awareness about what a really strong country really looks like. And what a strong , middle class , unionized working force, educated population in truth and morality looks like. This is your chance to stand up and be counted. Are you ready?

I'd like to see the military arrest the "Commander in Chief" and his evil servant Kegsbreath, and ultimately sentence them both to life in the Brig.

HI2thDoc's avatar

As far as I know, even though whoever is the president is Commander in Chief, they are not subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Damn. Because if military personnel can be held accountable for misdeeds, what about the CIC who issues illegal strikes and killings?

Carol M Myers's avatar

In any case, it would seem there is a rift in the military. I suppose that is a measure of hope...

My biggest concern is the resigning conscientious military leaders will be replaced by more alcoholic twats like Hegseth, who will have no scruples if Trump decides to turn the guns on civilians.

Amanda Allie's avatar

As a military leader myself, I can confirm that large numbers of Army officers are trying to resign their commissions, myself included. We will NOT follow illegal, immoral, or unethical orders.

Nancy's avatar

Yeah, but what if you all are replaced by people who will? :(

JustMe's avatar

I don't agree, God. It is very concerning to me that these high ranking military personnel are resigning. Who will be left but the Maggots in the military? People who have no problem following Trumps orders and see an opportunity for advancement? I believe this creates more fear for Americans. We don't know where each military member stands. Also, if Trump or Pete Hedgehog commands these people to go against their oath, why aren't they refusing? Why would they follow Hedgehogs commands, he isn't president?

Christine Chapman's avatar

Cannot understand the lack of imagination, lack of true substantive arguments. The military has one fucking job, they take the same damned oath: to DEFEND THE NATION FROM FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC THREATS. Methinks those folks "protest" too much. Those folks are the ones who have to, need to PROVE THEIR Patriotism beyond the norm. They take taxpayer funds as do the rest of government employees. Let us remind those highly trained , armed to the teeth men and women just WHO frigging matters. Without taxes, the nation becomes financially bankrupt...and totally owned by outside interests.

thanx, obama

I am wondering at what point might the Military protect Americans from the Trump regime. What would this take?

And

Secondly, what needs to occur before the military might consider removing a regime that was harmful towards anyone living in America?

Denise Palesch's avatar

Those are a couple of the most important questions of the hour.

I was told, historically, it is the colonels who bring rebellion.

I suppose it’s a numbers thing.

Colonels outnumber generals in the military.

Frances Tirinato's avatar

Thank you to the leaders and journalists who stood up against this regime. It's time for ALL of us to stand up to this tyranny.

I’m stoked to attend!!!

I applaud the integrity of the military leaders but I would have preferred that they stayed. We need all the pushback we can get on the illegal shit tRump and Kegsbreath try to do with the military. If there is no one left to fight against the tyranny of the illegitimate government then we are in much worse trouble.

PennyGirl's avatar

They are leading by example. If they stay, they must comply with the commands of their superiors. Leaving, they are refusing to be used for illegal acts and refusing to lead their soldiers also to disregard the law and the Constitution they swore to uphold.

I would like these brave leaders to come in front of congressional committees to express the reasons why they can no longer follow this lawless administration and do their evil bidding.

To come full circle and make their resignations a powerful message to defend our country, I look forward to hearing their stories in their own words.

The time is now and America is listening!

There is this:

https://girightshotline.org/

I've seen posts about it, where military personnel can call if they're worried about what they can do about illegal orders. :-/

I have mixed feelings about the military. On one hand, I applaud anybody speaking out against this fascist government and stepping down. On the other, I want the military personnel who see what's going on- the shredding of our Constitution and Democracy- and arrest the Cheeto-in-chief. I want to know where is the breaking point for the military to protect us against, "All enemies foreign and domestic," because if what the Trump regime is doing is not considered domestic terrorism, I want to know what is.

Tim's avatar

The only problem I see with these admirable actions is that the good men now leaving the military will probably be summarily replaced with tRump yes-men.
