We absolutely cannot back down from this extortion and corruption. And it’s not even DT who is pulling the strings—it’s his controllers (Stephen Miller, etc.) Orange Man doesn’t have the intelligence to come up with most of this shit. He just enjoys being the sloth who likes taking credit for how he’s “ruling the world.” How pathetic.
This is great news, but I wish you all would do the same by boycotting Target, Airbnb (whose CEO works for DOGE), and other companies that have eliminated DEI programs. You know that Target removed all black owned business products from their shelves right? Why does it take a white guy to get everyone to wake up? Do you know that over 350,000 black women have lost their jobs since this authoritarian regime has taken over? There is now an executive order to deem all transgender people as terrorists. All companies that eliminated DEI are part of this.
Even worse than all you say is sending innocent people to prisons in foreign countries, and they aren't white either. Lots of people - some of us white - have been trying to wake people up since before Trump 2.0. Lots of us became more politically-focused because of Trump.
I don't want to be cynical and say that people are finally starting to realize this isn't about other groups anymore, but about everyone. No doubt true for some people, but I also think that the work we've been doing all along is starting to show more results in terms of public consciousness, just as Trump et. al. are becoming quite blatant about their desires for total authoritarian (and corrupt) control, and the currently obvious issue is free speech.
Meanwhile, Putin steps up his war effort in Ukraine and is experimenting over Poland and Estonia, which people in the US don't seem to be paying much attention to, if at all, and Trump does nothing except say he will do something only if NATO countries stop buying oil from Russia, which Turkey and Hungary, who are NATO members, are not going to do in any timely fashion - and Trump knows this. Trump's actions suggest he supports Putin, while his speech suggests he doesn't want you to know that. But when it comes to free speech, he obviously wants to emulate Putin.
Margaret, at least NPR is reporting on what's going on, both in terms of Russian incursions, and a LOT of reporting on what's going on in Gaza. I listen to our local NPR station, KQED (and contribute!) 3 days a week on average during my1 - 1.5 hour commute each way, so I hear their reporting regularly. ... Although sometimes I have to turn it off for a while, because it can get to be too much. Better to sing along to Hamilton for a while!

Dear God, I hope you watched the Jon Stewart/Maria Ressa conversation on The Daily Show. We are at Armageddon NOT apocalypse…if we all use our voices and ACT. It’s a hopeful, honest social truth.
We were lifelong fans of Disney with multiple visits to the various theme parks every year for many many years, plus subscriptions to Disney+ HULU and ESPN. We bought all the movies in all the formats, etc., etc., etc. we have cancelled our subscriptions and will be boycotting the parks. Shame on Iger. I sent him a note telling him we are furious and why. I’m glad it seems to be sinking in! Not sure I’ll ever trust that brand again.
The one person who really needs to be cancelled is the Orange Turd. 🙄
