I stopped ordering from Amazon a while back...trying to shop local more. I absolutely miss the convenience, but it's absolutely ridiculous for someone to make more than they could spend in ten lifetimes while the people making it possible have to choose between groceries and rent.
You are lucky you can shop local. The only local shops here are boutiques and restaurants, and hair salons. If I need a notebook, a spool of thread, etc my only choice is Walmart.
I do a fair amount if ebay (also try to find listing that are individuals with unique items vs. the big bulk posters...and when possible ones that benefit charities!)
This is truly the epitome of the Haves and Have Not in this country. Forcing people to pee in a bottle is inhuman. I really wish Americans would shut down the economy by staying home and not buying anything for weeks and demand Trump leaves office. It would hit the oligarchs where it hurts, in their pocketbook
Was listening to a podcast about stuff from the Great Depression era. The oligarchs are making capitalism unattractive to the masses. The wave is building.
Each one of those ugly ass designer outfits could feed a family for a year. How do they look at themselves in the mirror? Let them drink piss water from the bottles with their cake.
While I know millions of Americans love their escapes into entertainment (including God,) I will not watch, listen, stream, purchase, or otherwise support anything created by anyone who attended this event. I don't care if that means I'm watching obscure documentaries in Spanish for the rest of my life. And showing up to let God and Jesus entertain me.
We all lived before Amazon, and we can all live better without it. Our local shops can remain open, our malls can survive, employing thousands of neighbors. Our damn politicians can have one less oligarch to play favors with. Give it up people! Stop feeding their machine of inhumanity and greed! God will bless you for it!
These protest actions only prove the point that there is nothing, absolutely nothing, that makes the rich superior to any other peoples, especially the workers and those living in poverty. Mark Twain was right: "When the rich rob the poor, it's called business. When the poor fight back, it's called violence." In truth, the fight is empowering and inspirational.
The Met Gala is a joke! Jeff Bezos and his wife have way more money than you can shake a stick at. You would think they would use that money towards charities and help people. But, they do not.
Can you imagine a billionaire sharing their blessings for the good of humanity. I guess we could look to Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates for advice here Jeff and Lauren. Your greed and arrogance are no longer needed.
Jeff Bezos treats the Amazon workers like dirt and he wastes money on a space rocket that looks like a dildo. His wife Lauren has spent a ton of money on plastic surgery. Jeff Bezos’s ex wife donates money to charities that help people.
Please God, forgive me for this sin ... I must use a curse word to express my thought: "Republicans" -- such a filthy word! Republicans (and their oily-garch, rat-bastard patrons like Muskkk, Bezos, CuckZuck, etc.) did this Trump thing on the nation's lawn! Republicans are to blame. Republicans could fix this, today! (Of course they won't.) If we get to vote, and can, we should NEVER, EVER vote for any Republican (even the Fetterman, Mahan kind), anywhere, for anything again. Amen.
Dear God, trust me when I say that if I could I would become an angel to support you, but I am a widow on Social Security, helping others as much as I can that have been hurt by trump and his goon squad.
Catching your live show when I can - in all its “messy” (aka relatable) glory is a highlight of my day. And I’m usually singing along to your karaoke :)
Not trying to defend Bezos, but he does give to charities. I do not like how his management team treats the workers though. Jeff Bezos primarily channels his philanthropy through two major initiatives: the Bezos Earth Fund (a $10 billion pledge focused on climate and nature) and the Bezos Day One Fund (focused on combating homelessness and early childhood education).
Does that begin to cover the taxes he doesn’t pay? The salaries he keeps low enough to force his workers to apply for government assistance (that he doesn’t contribute to?)

Try eBay instead of Amazon.

Power to the workers! ✊

That fashion show with designs by immigrants was FIRE! I couldn't possibly love it more!

Good one. Obviously, these rich assholes are sociopaths who have zero empathy or even awareness.
they've got their peer group . . . (gag!)

Now that is some good trouble! More of this please. And they’re right; there’s more of us than there are of them.

Those are not good examples.

Sue, it looks like you already are a paid subscriber to God as well as many other substacks. Are you aware of this?
Help me, I'm an Amazon junkie...how do I stop? I will gladly shop somewhere else.
