It's so hard not to feel overwhelmed with the reality that we've been handed a toy shovel and asked to dig our way out of this sandpit we never, ever chose to occupy. I appreciate the strength of Pope Leo and the sure foundation of his morality. However, I also see the aperture of the light at the end of the tunnel narrowing over the coming years under these monstrous individuals. Rebuilding seems an elusive prospect and still the only option to aim for. I just need to find a larger shovel.
I met an older woman at last week's rally who was also there alone and walked with her. She was afraid of the SAVE act and our future. I kept reassuring her that words and works have power and we must believe and fight. Everything is going to be alright as long as we don't give up. There is power in numbers. I think I gave her hope. She lives in a tRump stronghold (Alvin) south of Houston so I can understand her concern. On a side note: my neighbor, who ran for Republikkkan congress and lost, took down her tRump flag. NOW she's applied for Talarico's press secretary. WTF!!!? God, please give him a head's up.
