As Stephen Colbert pointed out, vaccine mandates have existed in America since the 1850s. To drag us back 175 years us quite a feat. Republicans are hazardous to America's health.

The antivax movement is also embedded in the evangelical movement, which is highly correlated with the crooked multilevel marketing industry, so there are many facets to this dumbassery.

Denise Palesch's avatar

If small pox vaccines were good enough for the father of this country and first President George Washington and Continental Army recruits that should be good enough for Ol’ Bone Spurs and Doctor McCrackers.

HI2thDoc's avatar

It should be but it's not. Of course, Washington was sensible, rational, and concerned with the well being of his men and the future of the country. Brainworm and Preznit Pedophile are none of those things.

Denise Palesch's avatar

Those are wonderful words to read.

Gave me a boost just to read them.

We do remember no one stays in orbit around Trump for long.

Soon now, Trump will pull out his rubber band slingshot and the Kennedy spitball will be shot over the South Lawn fence.

HI2thDoc's avatar

It has happened time and time again. He is the most transactional person ever. The moment you aren't useful to him or are a perceived liability, you will be jettisoned if you're lucky or thrown under the bus. I fail to see why so many groveling sycophants cannot understand his shitty history. Yep, if ol' Brainworm becomes too big a negative, it's bye, you never did much for me anyway.

Denise Palesch's avatar

Our country is run by dystopian soap opera actors and a mob boss director.

After RFK, Jr., is dumped, Trump will the revert to his usual go-to line.

Care to quote the line?

Either what Carla Jo said below, or "He was the worst ever, he never cured windmill cancer, he did not Make America Great Again, he--I think he was a democrat hoax... "

Carla Jo's avatar

I don't know him, have never heard of him.

Nancy's avatar

But oy -- who's gonna be the replacement? Someone WORSE?! :-/

Teri Gelini's avatar

We can only hope that happens. It can not happen soon enough

Fingers & toes crossed

To be precise Washington himself didn’t need a cow pox scratch.

He’d experienced the real deal and had the scars to prove it.

True; and it was more of an inoculation rather than an actual vaccine, which is why even our First Nation allies weren't recommended to receive it. I think even cow pox would've been too harsh to risk. :-/

If queried, no doubt trump and kennedy would deny that Washington had his troops vaccinated against smallpox. “Fake news”, they’d declare. Fine, antivaxxers, go ahead and kill yourselves. But don’t you dare take innocents down with you.

Denise Palesch's avatar

No doubt.

Good luck to the anti-vaxxers. Unfortunately, their inactions have terrible repercussions for others.

Many still living had the childhood diseases before there were vaccines.

Measles were brutal on this then-2 going-on-3 year old.

I remember only a few minutes of it, here and there, talking to my mother as she closed the pink curtains in the bedroom, the little red plastic Mini Mouse sunglasses she had me wear—even in the day- darkened room—so I wouldn’t go blind, she said—and no tv watching either. That’s light, she said.

No bother. I slept

The pillow, the blankets, my pajamas all hurt me, probably due to the high fever.

All she had to treat it was fluids and baby aspirin, pretty much same as today—if you ignore the fact there’s A VACCINE NOW!

(Yes, I shouted.)

Having had to experience it, any parent, who would be so cruel to not vaccinate their child, should be charged with child neglect or manslaughter. That might put the fear of their god in them.

Nancy's avatar

ABSOLUTELY YES. I still remember there was this kid in Oregon with shitty parents who obviously didn't care about him, who refused to get him A TETANUS SHOT. So, guess what happened! He got tetanus. The hospital he finally got taken to hadn't seen a case of it in THIRTY YEARS; they had to look it up in text books. The poor kid was in agony for weeks, if not months, and it cost the idiots over $800,000.

The hospital did take the opportunity to get the poor kid the various shots he needed, and strongly suggested the parents get him the boosters he'd need later, as well as more shots right then and there. They refused, of course. X-P

I wonder if the kid is still alive... :-/

This was Trump’s campaign pledge. To ‘Take America Back.’ To some dark, distant past.

Teri Gelini's avatar

Way back to the 1800's

Nancy's avatar

I'm guessing the Victorian/Edwardian periods. Way back before anyone had to give a shit about laborers, including children in coal mines and what-not. When "love, honor, and OBEY" was required in like every wedding vow for women (who weren't allowed to vote yet). When slavery was still a thing in the U.S. until nearly the middle of the Victorian Era (1837-1901). And the Edwardian Period went from 1901-1914.

Ask other countries around the world, especially the independent ones in this day and age, how well they liked those days. X-P

Slight correction, RFK Jr IS the Asshole

deniway's avatar

All in the party are ASSHOLES!

Judi Purcell's avatar

Sure does seem to be true.

Denise Palesch's avatar

Could explain his complexion color.

Nancy's avatar

Too much rectal tanning? :D

Peggy Thomas's avatar

Like trump his ego is so huge that he cannot be shamed or insulted, he gets mad but he doesn't think he is anything but wonderful

Wasroger's avatar

Which is why I knew Trump would approve of his performance at the hearing. They have very similar personalities. This and his even more vacant intelligence made RFK Jr. a shoo in.

Makes me wonder if Trump has or has had his brain mined out by worms. Just like his pal.

The behavior on display from Sec HHS is consistent with that of addicts when accused of still being actively addicted. Extremely defensive and unaccountable.

Wasroger's avatar

Fascinating. Never considered that. 🤔

Morgan Wolaver's avatar

Sad that America has to suffer this level of arroganrt stupidity. Unfortunately childern and the elderly will suffer the most under his mis-guidance.

Carla Jo's avatar

None-producers. Too old or young to bring the emperor tribute.

Nancy's avatar

They're only too young if they're male. :-/

DL Jr's avatar

I’m sensing a lot of new material for South Park! RFK JR explaining what a butt baby is!😂

deniway's avatar

The two Republican Senators who also ripped RFK jr a new one, citing the fact are doctors, failed to tell the press when asked that they regretted their vote for him. Barrasso of Wyoming went so far as to say that he will not question Assolini's choices!!! Why the hell even be on the committee then? What a useless piece of humanity!

C K Smith's avatar

Another Substacker (Trevor Stone Irvin) calls Kennedy "Tater Salad Stupid." That is so fitting I am using it on my next protest sign, along with a Kennedy's most stupid photograph. If "Tater Salad" (without the "Stupid" part) sounds familiar, it might be from the comedian Ron White. He calls himself that, but he is anything but stupid; in fact, he's one of the funniest guys around.

Denise Palesch's avatar

Still laugh when I think the bit on his arrest and the alias he gives—correction drawls—to the police. George Burns cigar prop and all.

“They Call Me ‘Tater Salad.’”

People, if you are going to need laughs this weekend, maybe you will find Ron’s routine a great escape.

(Who saw that pun coming? Be honest. Raise your hands.)

C K Smith's avatar

Excellent!!!! Thank you!

BTW, Ron White lives very close to my neighborhood in an Atlanta suburb. I always hope I will run into him somewhere like the grocery store. We got to see him live once, and I will never forget how funny he was in person. Great show!

Denise Palesch's avatar

Betting on you.

Can’t imagine him jogging through the neighborhood, tho.

Maybe, if you walk the dog smoking a cigar, he’ll be inclined to join you.

C K Smith's avatar

Good suggestion! 😅

Nancy's avatar

"This is my son...Tater Tot." X-D

Denise Palesch's avatar

Maybe don’t inhale. You know what trouble that could be.

Denise Palesch's avatar

I surrender to a kindred spirit of humor and sarcasm personified.

Another lol!

C K Smith's avatar

Thank you, Denise! It's the humor and sarcasm that is keeping me from going off the deep end these days. I imagine you know what I mean. :-)

Katharine Hill's avatar

Bless you, God. I subscribe to your holy word. And I have those free trials to give away but I don’t know how to work the technology. May I please ask your people to pass them along? 🙏💙

I swear, these people - the MAGAs, the Republicans, and all who support and love them - are like the orange cats we laugh about. They have ONE little brain cell that they share among themselves, and you just never know which one of them will have it on which day. The only thing different is that orange cats are exceptionally sweet, kind, cute, and lovable, and the MAGAs are definitely NOT THAT! I'd rather have ginger cats running the Government than any of these assholes! They may have one brain cell, but at least they're nice.

Lady Emsworth's avatar

Having watched quite a lot of the video of that hearing, it seems to me that RFK doesn't yet realise he HAS a new ahole. He is the most arrogant know-it-all in the admin - he comes close to trump, and that really IS saying something.

Carla Jo's avatar

And not something good.

John S. Way's avatar

RFK Jr came out of there looking like Leon Spinks in the 3rd round.

Pam Reese's avatar

God, I am having a small problem differentiating between “truth” and the wicked satire you do. Is this true?? Did they really say that to A-hole RFK?!?! Oh, I hope it’s true

Lady Emsworth's avatar

Catch the vid. if you can - I thought RFK was actually going to explode he went almost purple!

Tracy L Cooper's avatar

Tis true & it was glorious to watch.

Peaceful Mary T.'s avatar

It was awesome!! I loved every minute of it! :) RFK, jr. is such an arrogant asshole, too. Pompous bastard! And ever since someone (I can't recall who - Jeff Tiedrich? Andy Borowitz? it was someone brilliant) called him a ball sack with eyes, that's all I can think of now when I look at him, and it just cracks me up! LOL!

Denise Palesch's avatar

Oh, Mary! What an image you shared! 😇🤣🤣🤣

Peaceful Mary T.'s avatar

Isn't that a perfect description?? :D

Denise Palesch's avatar

It seems SO on target. I can’t think about it without getting a headache.

Julie G's avatar

I LOVE the animation of you slapping Taco Tits' face so much!!! I'd like to think you could slap some common sense and compassion into him, but it's a lost cause at this point.

P J Johnston's avatar

Boy all kinds of SKNIT! Gotta LOVE IT God! Smite away! RFK, Jr is getting exactly what he deserves, now are we going to see impeachment, I truly hope so because a lot of people will die if they don't get rid of him.

Nancy's avatar

But if the Trumpster Fire insists on someone just as bad, if not worse, that won't solve much... :-/

And you know there's a plethora of wackaloons for him to draw on. :-/
