You are probably right, but part of the problem is that they don’t really want to have to think. They just want someone to tell them what they want to hear. The problem comes when they have to judge if what they are hearing is truth or lies. If they don’t want to investigate (read) the facts themselves, then they end up believing what sounds like what they want. Sometimes it is just a matter of laziness or not wanting to do the work.

One other thing that I recently read I found disconcerting is a study why women are doing better than men: 1.) more women have been getting college degrees than men and 2.) men tend to drop out of professions when they have to compete with too many women in that field (too many women in a field tends to dampen the prestige and salaries in that field.) This might be the real reason for the MAGA attack on women: many men don’t want to do the work and have the discipline and values many women have in order to succeed, and it’s easier for white men to put down those they have to compete with than to try to raise their own discipline, standards and values.
Another point on the destruction of the educational system will be the continual reduction of U.S. citizens qualified for those tech jobs they're already considered not fit enough to fill. They're going to fall further and further down in the food chain until they're only fit to pick the fruit and veg Central and South American migrants are no longer there to do. They won't be able to afford healthcare either, so will become nothing but expendable slaves to the stinking rich.
There will have to be more H-1B visas because the U.S. is deliberately dumbing down its native population. Instead of losing jobs to Latinos, it will be the Far East. They'll be the ones climbing the social ladder to become the wealthier populace and, by far, the more intelligent. The U.S. sits bang in the middle of India, China, Indonesia and Pakistan in the world top five population figures. Bangladesh and Russia also sit in the top ten. Five of the top ten are also BRICS members, who will be delighted to take over a country with the infrastructure and resources already built for them.

I must say - I never foresaw this crumbling before January 2025. I awoke this morning to the news of Jimmy Carter's passing. I felt absolutely devastated but it confused me as to why I felt so strongly about it.
